I've had an analogue box for about 10 years and it has served me very well. The starview was a good idea as you get many more channels than with the analogue box. The problem is it has become so popular I think the cable company is going to have to take some drastic steps to prevent people using it.

At present they broadcast one premiership match on Saterday evenings and you have to press the red button to choose a particular game. You can't do this with the SV box because it has to send a signal back to the cable company to get the game you want. I think very soon you will have to press the red button to watch anything on cable. Can someone tell me if there would be a way around this.

Make sure all cables are in properly, the right cable provider is selected and don't worry about inputting the codes until after you do an automatic scan you should still find the channels they will just be scrambled also don't forget to turn on emu but after you get the channels tuned!

Who told you this. The people who made the update said they had tested it on the real box but not on the clones so they do not know if it will work. You seem to be saying that they tested it on the clones and know that after three weeks it will blow them up like some mission impossible type trojan. It sounds rather far fetched to be honest.

Hi Glen. Appreciate your assistance - no joy though - it just keeps "failing" the search. Any other ideas? Thanks again

It's all about crunching the numbers. There are so many of these SV's being shifted that even if people do not have internet access or are to scared to try to flash their box soon everyone will have a mate who will come around and do it for them. I have done quite a few for friends in the last three days.

The more people that have these SV's the more people will find out about them and want them. Say you select your channel as normal and then press the red button after selecting the channel. Will that really upset people. I don't know when they will do it but I have not sold my analogue box even though quite a few have asked for it.

    ------------------

The normal box provided by the cable company. Like I said if you want to watch a certain match you have to select it. A signal goes to the cable company and selects that game. It's like selecting S"Y sports 1 just opens up a menu to other channels and you select that channel. The same sort of thing as on freeview I suspect but I don't have freeview so I don't know.

    PABLO

    *Lets start from the start,
    *Do a factory reset again,
*Make sure your cable from your cable provider is going into the cable input and not the antenna input
    *Select your language
    *Enter Installation
    *Select your provider
    *Select Automatic Scan
*When all channels are found exit back to a channel
    *Press Menu then 1570
*Turn Emu on and input the new keys in nagravision
    *Watch the channels unscramble

it doesnt send a signal, when you select a different channel, thats all it does, selects a different channel, sky & freeview work in the same way! thats why theres so many spare unused channels, channels like bbc use them for their interactive services. theres only one way the cable providers can put a stop to this permanently but it would kill them financially.
