Crash'd maybe these feautures are available in the UK but in Ireland they are not! The red button on my remote control does nothing EVER!

 

Is it not possible for the sv to be updated to receive all the matches films ect on diffrent channels.Or am i still missing the point.

OK well it sounds like its a clone to me here have a look at these picxs of a clone box if it looks like this do not update to above 2.59 firmware for about a month it seems to kill Clone boxes!

the red button wont work for interactive services like genuine boxes do. sv's havent been designed for interactivity, just viewing all the channels. digital text doesnt even work, dont know about old analogue text.

Actually while im on the subject of analogue - does anyone know why theres an anologue antenna input on the sv?? ive plugged my aerial into this & tried scanning but it doesnt find anything

 

glen the scarts are on the right in your post you have said left twice. which one is genuine left or right scarts looking at it from behind.

 

lads. having the small box doesnt mean its a clone. its either a clone or a 1st generation genuine box

You may well be right and maybe all the channels are transmitted down the line at the same time. I really do hope so because then it would mean that the SV can be updated. I am just guessing here and would love a definitive answer.

If you order a movie or a pay per fiew fight a signal is sent back to the cable company and your are charged. I thought selecting a particular game on a saterday night was done in the same way but you just didn't have to pay.

 

Eh 1. I was talking about my N*L Pace box Remote and
2. You have to do a manual scan for your box to find channels through an antenna.

 

To spot putting the codes in you will have to flash the box. If you don't want to flash it keep putting the codes in. If you really don't want to put the codes in anymore throw the box away

 

Could it possibly be they are trying to make life a bit difficult for people who are ripping them off

 

anything that needs paying for then yes a signal does get sent to them, but for interactive services no signal is sent. and yes all the channels are transmitted at same time, as well as up to 20mb broadband + a telephone connection - all through 1 fibre optic cable!! sounds pretty clever to me

 

You can upgrade to 3.00eE and take the risk of your box dying I wouldn't reccomend it! I have been advised by an N*L techie that the frequent change in codes has absolutely nothing to do with Cable Receiver Boxes but the upgrading to High Def. So you may not have to be inputting your keys for to long!

That is what I thought. I called them about 8 months ago and was told they had upgraded and you could select a game. Taht was the whole reason I got a SV box. So had I been making a genuine enquiry and got a N*L box on the strength of that their sales team had told me I would have been well and truely rogered.
