you need the gtrom loader, the appropriate bin file, a 9 pin serial cable (female), possibly usb to serial converter. you need to make sure your pc/laptop is using the same com port as gtrom do this in device manager under control panel. once they match connect everything up put box on standby open gtrom select bin file select com port click download.

NIK the S-VIDEO Cable will only work for displaying whats on your Laptop monitor on your TV, if you want to use your laptop for recoeding TV you need to get a TV tuner Card this fits into your PCMCIA slot on your laptop and works with Media Centre

I suppose both are RS232 cables but the simple fact is one is not a NULL Modem cable and does not work. If on the front of the box it does not say NULL MODEM you have the wrong cable. So take it backand get the right one.

This is the problem people are having. Please tell them they need a NULL MODEM cable. If they are getting it from MAplins they should ask for part L71BT

ah s**t, have the codes been changed again already, turned the stupid starview on, I'm getting the data updating again message, it's just going around in a loop. Has anyone cracked the codes yet.

Yes they have changed. Although some people are saying it's just the cable company updating their system for Hi def. So if you wait foer a month or two or maybe three the codes will last for longer.
