Tommy, don't get me wrong i appreciate that Sly has sub prices but im just saying that its slightly overpriced for something which isn't even guaranteed to work 100% at the moment. I'm not moaning, just simply stating facts..Chances are i will be suckered into getting a starview pvr for that price anyway so in the end it doesn't matter seeing as the payback period is short anyway.

I agree with you w****** released the v260 to kill off the clones so people would buy the overpriced starview called the box.

Dwew look at the book and it says the cpu on the ones i am supposed to have run at 81Mhz but i cant be sure weather real or fake

Borrow a freinds remote and get a reprogramable remote example, one for all, the nice blue touchpad remote is very nice to play with

 

drew some of the so called cloned boxes are working on thev3.00 and no freezing

I have heard of a few of them dying after 3 or 4 days working perfectly. so beware of installing it.

Im still thinking cooling on the original boxes will help the freezing up problems! buy a fan!

Oh and im going to be installing the 3.00eE software onto the clones today, im feeling a little doubtfull but only slightley, the other 98% of me is saying it will be fine, as for the rest of the original boxes, im going to goto maplins tomorrow and pick up some micro fans for the processors to install in them, if im feeling good, i might even get some multicolered flashing Led's and instal them inside so its a bit like the phillips lcd tv with the colours that light up behgind it, Les Party

how simple would it be to connect a micro fan how would you mount it and take a power feed from it would it not reduce power going to the box itself

 

omg, starview modding has started!! i must say - its tempting. one question though - fans need power, as far as i know these boxes dont have fan connectors!

We have an Menigitas epidemic on starview boxes on our hands, there all dying! oh deary me

Right, is it the originals that are dying?

I just noticed something else, well i noticed it the other day but didnt think too much of it

The original boxes comply with european laws on electronic components for recyling, if you take a look at the back of your box, some where on the back will be a small white picture of a wheely bin with a cross through it meaning your not to throw it into the bin when its out of use!

Your ment to take it to the recycling depot in your area so its parts can be reused.

The clones appear not to display this legal information on them, so if they clones were genuine, they should have displayed this!

Genuine boxes have the logo displayed on the back of the unit
