I need to re flash my starview and cannot find the files from this forum (maybe im being thick)! Could somebody please help me? TEZZER? I need 257

I acutally didn't see that answered in this thread (although i could well have missed it I guess). Also, my box never came with a manual so sorry but I really am relying on this brilliant forum for help.

Hi, Starview box user in Dublin, Ireland. I seem to have lost Sky Movies 9 and 10 (these are now Sky Premiere and Premiere +1). Any ideas on how I can get these back? I've tried a full rescan, a manual scan with network scan enabled...nothing detects them!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

 

hi, im just wondering if anyone has used a usb to rs232 with success, and if so, where did you get the cable from? also does anyone have a sorted channel bin file for c/w london area?

usb to rs232 are a pain in the bum

i bet your using a laptop

best to go to a mates house and use the pc.

 

hi all has anybody got a channel list i can upload for the nottinghamshire area without me having to spend about 4hours sorting a editing channels many thanks in advance if anybody can help rich.

 

FOR THOSE WITH A LAPTOP
this is a driver file for a " usb to serial convertor"
this is to enable you to use a [ laptop without a 9 pin com port] . to use a null modem cable to programme your starview.
it says plug and play on these devices, they dont and you need a driver, so if your device came without a driver disc use this
it works 100%.
[1] open and run the driver file with the device unplugged
[2] it might ask you to uninstall old drivers [say yes]
[3] re-start your pc after installed.
[4] connect your usb to serial device.
[5] check in the device manager settings
[ prolific usb to serial com port.-com [1].

Hi There. Can anyone help me. My kid got the remote and did something to my Starview box. I now only have a menu that shows languages that I cannot exit from. HELP!

When I press OK I get into a Main Menu. I can see installation, User Set up, Factory Setting & System info. What Next. Bear in mind I'm not very technical...

 

go into instalation and select your area at the top and then auto scan then get back to me

 

Did auto scan and in there (Channel Scan) it said DVB-C 37/37 all TP things failed. Message read (Info) 0 Program found. I dont know what he has done.

it needs a re- flash mate

start from scratch //
do you have the null modem cable that came with it // a 9 pin female to 9 pin female wire

if so reflash it

if you dont know how down load the three files below the instructions are here along with the simple program and the reflash file 257e

download all three files and store them in the same folder

can some please help.
i got a starview today,my problem is i can only view about ten channels of the 142 that are on it.a little dollar sign seems to be on the ones i cant view and also it says nigravison on the ones i cant view ...any help??

try this and please get back and let me know it worked

press menu
then go into parental control
then press the i or info button
then press 2 0 0 4

then go down to emu and turn it on

then exit all the way out and go to a scrambeled channel and it will update
