Starview Expert-**no email posting or BANNED**

hi guys im new here so please forgive me for asking this...

...my step dad has a starview box to get n*l channels, however his box was set up is 4:3 resolution, so i went into the settings to change it to 16:9, however it would not let me out of the manu structure at all, so i turned off the box, switched it back on and it was still in the menu, the only way it would let me out was to scan for new channels, which i did, but then after it found them, they were all scrambled, we have tried to un-scramble it, however the person that did this for us has said that the box is no longer working :S has anyone else had this problem?

any advice?

look at the post above yours and try this if it dont work then start from scratch with a reflash /
a reflash works most of the time 257e is the best to use

 

tezzer your a legand thanks mate.tell me this....what are the chances of losing this is the near future?? is it true that all you would have to do is update through my comms port cable??

 

if they ever go of you can reflash with the new software that will be available when the time comes

last time they went of in jan 2007 i got the update the same night no problem and it went of two years before that so who knows it could be next week , it could be next year but dont worrie , loads of help on here to get you up and running in no time

Hi everyone.Can anyone help me please,i lost the picture on the movie channels so did a rescan both on manual and automatic and the search found them again but on smscifi which is the main one i need it says bad or scrambled.the others are fine but no matter what i do i cant get this one back on!

 

is smscifi asking for the red button
why not try smscifihid because the channels are doubled up / one scrambled and one is not

Both the hid one and the other one both say the same thing- scrambled.every other channel is fine.im confused!

 

are you sure it dont broadcast till later . it is on intermission at the moment

try at 12 o clock with revenge of frankenstein..

hi what happened to your box and was it a genuine box he sold you

 

it been working for about 8 month, its been an exelent box, no problems untill a few days ago it totally stopped workin (the flash rom has gone) and it CAN NOT BE UPDATED (so right now its a 100 quid paper weight) and yes it was a genuine box he sold me so now im lookin for another 1, but not much cash to spare,

 

what did he tell you, that it was out of guarantee or something, im just interested cos i've ordered a few from him and i dont want to run into the same problem in a few months

 

he sed it has been opened, which it has not, he said cos i paid cash he didnt give me a recipt, so im not to happy at the moment

I bought my Starview box from a guy called Priz, but not off ebay. and this was his web address http://www.skywonder.co.uk/home.php has anyone else had any problems, as I have recomended this site to a few mates and don't want them getting ripped off.
So far (touch wood) my box as been A+ but I have only had it 2 months.

 

i think he got a few web sites, but dnt know y ??
