Starview Expert-**no email posting or BANNED**

Hi, I have recently got two of these boxes, I seem to have one of each of the ones described on previous pages. I am not sure which one is the official one and which is the fake (if there is such a thing)

They are currently both working but I am concerned that one of them will go wrong on the next update. Please can anyone in the know answer a couple of things for me.

When updates are released is it because the previous versions stop working or can the old ones still be used? ie if I have a non official box will I be forced to try to update or can I simply use the curent stable versions?

Can anyone tell me for a fact if one of my boxes is official and one is no good, if so which one is which?

i got a box but most channels are scrambled, i turned on the emu but still no joy so i think the software needs updating

Can anyone tell me if subtitles actually work on the starview box?
will not let me turn them on,any help would be appreciated,needed for my partially deaf daughter,many thanks...

Got a starview digital receiver and followed instructions but all channels are showing signal scrambled/bad, so I connected to my pc to down load software using Rs232 9 pin. PC did not recognise the box and I was unable to locate or download any software. Can anyone help please

 

have you got any channels at all? if you have and you are just missing some it is possible you have not turned the emu on.

 

Hi did not check all channels but a quick scan showed scambled /bad on all we looked at . What is emu/

 

press menu on your remote then info on your remote and type in 2004 this will open up a secret menu scroll down to the botom and move the emu to on then exit everything then you should have all channels let us no how you get on.

i am a complete newby to all this starview stuff. i need to know what i need to set up starview. now, i need to know do i need to have an existing n*l, s*y, or similar? Which, i don't have by the way. Do i need to link the box to a computer? i do have a normal bt broadband connection, would this run / work on a starview box? finally, how would i set it up?

If you have two boxes is one smaller than the other. and if so the smaller one is the COPY and cant be upgraded from now on

 

i have just upgraded and updated my copy box no problem .

hey everyone,
just bought the starview box,operating on n*l,the box has found all channel names and what is on each channell etc. but there is no picture or sound,just the info bar about the channel????

has anybody else encounterd this and if so could they lend me a hand.............
