Hi all! Same here in Lancashire. When inputting my p[rovider I have to do as ex C and W. If i do the key thing will it work as not using N*L (even though they are my provider!)

Hi my box was also down but it started to update itself and is now working fine still on 257.this is the data.

Yes this is true firmware ver 261 is out now this will resolve updating issues! if do not know how to do just carry on with steps to put keys in manualy in my guide below..
For firmware update You will need to register
Please read instructions as if you update a clone starview box above firmware 259 it will die you've been warned!
This update has been withdrawn as not working still check website below for new update in a few daysThere is also a section on clone starview boxs and how to tell the difference the remote being most obvious please read this section before any firmware update is done good luck..

Entering keys manualy works fine.
Works with all firmware except 258 as known to have issue's with getting secret menu up
also no need to scan/reset just follow instructions below

To put keys in manualy do as follows.

press menu
press 1570. this takes you into secret menu
Hit ok on nagravision
and change both keys 0, and key 1

Make sure your cable provider is listed at top N** or t******t ect
To change between the 2 keys
highlight key number press right and left

When key changed hit ok (To store) after each one..
(YOU MUST SAVE EACH KEY INDIVIDUALLY - I.E. AFTER CHANGING KEY 00 MAKE SURE YOU STORE BEFORE CHANGING KEY 01 (TO STORE PRESS OK)

If you have already done full factory reset/scan dont forget to turn back on EMU

Now exit and all channels ok

On the starview remote:

Pause button = Letter A
Audio button(next to pause!) = B
Red(sub) button = C
Green(next to Red!) = D
Yellow = E
Blue = F

To enter numbers use the numbers on the remote 0-9.
To move left or right use the navigation buttons left and right.
To confirm press ok.

4. Red Audio Button for Goto Key Manager

5. Choose the top option and turn OFF the auto update.

6. Press the Blue button to choose the NAGRA option

6. Three left arrows back take you to 'Prov ID 0x5B' which is TW 4 back is 'Prov ID 0X55' is Ntell and 0XC1 is ex C&W etc

7. One down arrow takes you to the 0x00 - i.e. Key 0. Press OK

8. Up pops the HEX Keyboard - just type in the new numbers - it puts the dots in for you. Do this for Key 01 as well.

9. Exit out -should be sorted.

Enter the your cable companys keys from above

 

no need for a factory scan m8

just do the following

to put keys in manually do as follows.
press menu
press 1570. this takes you into secret menu
press nagravision

then enter the keys for your area
& remember to press ok to save

 

Excellent!!! T***west key worked for me!
It helps if you know who your original provider was before this Virg*n, N**, T***west merging business.

The channels comes on straight away, no need to wait for info updating dialog box.

How often will the keys be changed? And where did you guys get the new keys from?

As for having to update....is there a stable version of the latest firmware even out? Have never updated the firmware before.

Hello mate, i am using starview box with T*W, with API VER: 2.57e_E
it was working fine untill this morning when i tried to watch S*y M and S*Y S it just wont diplay anything and its trying to update data over and over again saying DATA IS BIENG UPDATED.. shows percentage and when its done goes to blank screen and after few seconds starts the same process again, i tried reseting the box and rescanned all channels, turned emu on again but that didnt help, could u plz help me in this regard. cheers

 

just tried to do it - when I have gone onto provider doesn't say ex C and W. Any ideas folks?

 

Immy, everyones box went down 2day.
There was no need to do factory reset (i found out the hard way).
Something called autoroll key was changed by the cable provider.

Read the first post on the top of page 42 and you should be all good again.

 

i'm on n*l but it's still not working
i can only type the key in the "key data" place and it's still not working. plz help thx.

 

Im also starview in the fife area & cant get mine to work either, ex t******t here but interestingly it says in the key entry screen ntl up the top of the page, what keys should i be using (i have tried all the ones posted so far with no luck)

 

i have followed instructions supplied to me for my new starview box, now when i click on to a PAY chanel ie sky sports 1, it keeps throwing up the "data is being updated" screen, it gets to 100% over and over and over but keeps going back to the updating screen and doesn't actually give me the chanels

ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS

 

For liban and other N** users

In the nagravision menu:
- Choose your provider (press left or right navigation button until the top line reads your provider.
- In the key menu press left until you see "00". Now press down.
- Now manually enter the first key in "D5 68 00 5A 29 36 51 D1" (you do this using the pause, audio and colour buttons on your remote.
- press OK after you have done this. now press UP
- Press right until you see "01" in the key number field. press down again.
- Manually enter the second part of the key E4 87 54 Df 4D 01 EC BA.
- Press OK
- Exit out of all menus and Channels should be on now.

For other subscribers just find the correct key for your provider.
