do you mind if I ask how you know there will bee new software Steo and who will be supplying it... Reason I'm asking is because I've heard that there is some dicey software out there that affects the box and we have to be carefull what we take... thanks again from GladF...

all these boxes have been down a few times before and always get back up and running a day or two later ..

theres no dodgy software out only problem is that the new 260 bin file runs too fast for the cloned (copy ) boxes and can burn out the processer whinin a few days

Can you let me know were the best place to source a Star view box is?
I also have an issue with another box were it keeps saying it is updating the channels and then keeps looping doing this is there any fix for this?

 

I know what you mean Tezzer and I don't want to go down this well trodden path but from what I'm reading everyone is claiming they have the genuine article and its the other guy who has the copy box lol. I'll keep well away from this 260 I think and pray this updated software the guys here are talking about comes soon, thanks again for the reply Tezzer...

 

codes were changed yesterday. new keys can be found on this forum.

 

I also had the same problem, I used to be with N*L but my box has to scan T*****ST to get my channels.
I was unsure what codes to use to I entered the codes for C*W, N*L, T*****ST to get my box to work.

Hope this helps.
Oh and remember to save when you enter each line of code.

 

Hi forum, we are working on a fix soon as possible for now i suggest if you live in a pure NTL area then use 258e as it works cant guarantee how long for but least till we get the fix, once again i cannot help you if you have clone boxes and take no responsibility & before everyone hammers my inbox for the file ask your starview sellers if they refuse to help you then ask me, i dont mind helping people it just pisses me off starview sellers sell boxes and dont offer any support after and people are afraid to ask them for help?

it all depends what you expect from it. the pic / sound quality is good, channel change is quick, simple to use. as you can see from the recent posts on here, everyones box got disconnected, this is perfectly normal though and can be easily sorted. we all work together on here to help each other out. most of us swear by the starview - 1 or 2 arent do keen. i'd say give it a try, theres only 1 alternative - the dbox, more expensive but aparently better (i wouldnt know never used one)

can someone shed some light on what the keys actually are? im guessing they are some sort of decryption key, kinda like css keys on dvds is this right?

ok, so does finding out these keys involve some sort of network "sniffing" kinda like what the hackers are doing to bluetooth & wifi connections??
