clone box is smaller and has the scarts on theright as you look from the rear. the remote has 2 large grooves on the back original has only 1.

 

Hi have a star veiw box about a month going well untill yesterday when everything dissapeared my daughter lives not far away she says the same happened hers Ithink ntl has put a block on the area what do you think please help

 

oldmellon, yes this has happened to everyone,we are all waiting for an update but you should be able to get your channels back by manually inputting keys into your box via your remote control if you look at previous pages on this forum ( pages 42 + roughly),then you will find the codes to input plus instructions- hope this helps

 

ignore the advice to buy a dbox , dont touch them ,, its a dbox 2 thats the good one not the dbox they are rubish and are only good for the bin..

if you want a dbox2 go for the nokia dbox2 or the sagam dbox2

i have got a problem with my starviw box
some channels like sky sports 1 and 2 and many other have stop working when i go on them it says data being updated
can eny1 help me plz as i am trying to watch barcelona vs getafe on sky sports 2 tonight

HAVE A LOOK AT PAGE 42 ONWARDS FOR THE ANSWER

 

Entering keys manualy works fine.
Works with all firmware except 258 as known to have issue's with getting secret menu up
also no need to scan/reset just follow instructions below

To put keys in manualy do as follows.

press menu
press 1570. this takes you into secret menu
Hit ok on nagravision
and change both keys 0, and key 1

Make sure your cable provider is listed at top N** or t******t ect
To change between the 2 keys
highlight key number press right and left

When key changed hit ok (To store) after each one..
(YOU MUST SAVE EACH KEY INDIVIDUALLY - I.E. AFTER CHANGING KEY 00 MAKE SURE YOU STORE BEFORE CHANGING KEY 01 (TO STORE PRESS OK)

On the starview remote:

Pause button = Letter A
Audio button(next to pause!) = B
Red(sub) button = C
Green(next to Red!) = D
Yellow = E
Blue = F

To enter numbers use the numbers on the remote 0-9.
To move left or right use the navigation buttons left and right.
To confirm press ok.

5. Choose the top option and turn OFF the auto update.

6. Press the Blue button to choose the NAGRA option

6. Three left arrows back take you to 'Prov ID 0x5B' which is TW 4 back is 'Prov ID 0X55' is Ntell and 0XC1 is ex C&W etc

7. One down arrow takes you to the 0x00 - i.e. Key 0. Press OK

8. Up pops the HEX Keyboard - just type in the new numbers - it puts the dots in for you. Do this for Key 01 as well.

9. Exit out -should be sorted.

These boxes are good but there all second hand and around 5 years old now and most of the time the displays knackered and mostly have to be ship from germany also the size of a old betamax video lol
not a good buy go for eurovox or new starview the box

first impressions of this 3.00ee seem good,the epg is a lot more reliable for a start,and the best news is no smoke coming out of the back of my box lol! so i must have a genuine box phew!
