whats this new starview 300ee software.what difference does it make.

 

new file is causing channels to freeze on n*l in dublin.

 

nutzzz i have allthe channels thanks do u know how long will we get b 4 we have to do this again

 

is any1 having problems with the new 3.00 software and is it worth upgrading from 2.57..and is changing the keys a permanent or temporary fix...thanks

DONOT put the starview 300.ee file on your Replay lite receiver, as it will not work & also damage your receiver, as the updates are for there own boxes

there is no update firmware for Replay lite or Replay receivers at the moment,

 

nobody nows m8, as it cable compony that changes the code keys,

if everything goes like the last update firmware , it will last a few months, so fingers crossed

Could someone explain to me what the difference is between entering the keys manually or downloading the new software. Does it just do the sane thing?

the keys were a temporary fix while they were working on the new software

 

But do I need to install the new update? I have what I think is an original box, but my uncle has what appears from the photos a clone box? both started working again with the new keys, so do I actually need to install the software?

 

I have tested the new firmware on genuine starview and it causes channels to freeze. i would wait for them to fix this.do not put new firmware on the clone as it will kill it.

Has anybody figured out if the the pictures for real and clone are right,i hav the purple box the one grove remote with ce on back,yet my box scarts to the right and ce on the back i'm confussed,am i on my own

 

from what I have read, the scart on the right with proper remotes are the older type which should be ok. Not sure how reliable that info was. It is easy for senders to switch remotes etc. Hopefully someone will clarify soon!

 

just winding me up now because i have sold 7 to friends and family their all up and running but not going to risk putting 300 on them just in case

 

did u have to download from disc when u bought them

 

no only thing i've ever had to do is flash them twice over the last 14 months

 

Heres a thought.....If these boxes need new software every time theres a "key roll", then why not stick with the software version you have and enter the keys manually. This way you dont risk frying the box and you dont have to hook it up to pc everytime either.These boxes are supposed to auto update, but we seem to need new software everytime. It's not difficult to manually enter keys.............if it's not broke, dont fix it !
