richiemkk you are almost there,just change the keys,it sounds as though you are trying to input your keys in the wrong place , its menu 1570,scroll down to nagravision ,open it and where it says key data there should be 16 letters and numbers,just input the new keys and click ok on your remote to save- also make sure you choose your correct provider at the top too.

 

With all the confusion about clone or 1st gen sv's.I hope in a few days i'm not reading posts about dead sv's because of the new bin file.I think and hope mine is 1st gen,but my advise now to anybody who is not sure is to wait a few days before updating.If mine is dead all alive in a few days i will post to let everyone know.

can someone tell me how to get into the secret menu every one is talking about. I have tried pressing menu while watching a chennel. the only codde that my unit will accept is 0000. 1570 or 2004 does nothing.

Am I doing it in the wrong place??

I am living in Ireland (Ntl) - I put in the codes box is now working but I am missing 7 channels - the first 7 channels on the box ie sky movies prem 1/2 - nick junior(kids going mad) - (when I say the first 7 channels / its the first 7 channels if you need not move your channels around & left the channels in their origianl positions) - Is every one missing these channels - Any one I spoke to in Waterford are missing channels - can this be fixed if so how??

 

quite a few people have complained about missing channels & i think ive just found a solution. Since everyones boxes went off the other day some channels havent been given their correct name! if you go through the list you'll see some channels like tv 26, tv 411 etc... check each tv ** channel and you should find what you want, i lost disc turbo which is what i always watch and it was hiding in there so have a look

 

Please help, someone!!! I'm living in Nass, in ireland and cable network is Ch*rus. Does anyone have code for this network? Also Ch*rus is showing up in Nagravision but not when i'm going into installation menu. Any ideas what network to use in installation menu if Ch*rus isn't available?. I only bought the box on wednesday and just tried to set it up and no luck. Any help is appreciated.

I just received following from shy wonder - is this safe to do - will this stop my box from getting scrambled

NEW Update for the Starview Box as of 27/05/07



Follow the Below instructions.



The links at the bottom can be used to download

1) Software

2) Firmware

3) WinZip - If you need it



Instructions

1) Plug in the RS232 cable into the serial port on the pc and the other end into the back of the box.

2) Open the software "GT Rom" and click "BIN FILE", select the new file given called "STARVIEW_H20070527_300eE_PRITZapi". This will show up in the space.

3) Switch on the box.

4) Once you see "on" on the box or a channel number, press Download on the program…this will load the image on to the box and will take approximately 2mins. Once this is compete it will show you on the PC screen.



Wait til you get "ON" on the box, and that means you can switch off and unplug. (If you get a channel number that's fine aswell)

That's it your done.

Run the scan as normal,

Follow instructions for scanning if you are unsure.

This time in the EMU screen choose SET DEFAULT KEY...then turn EMU on and EXIT.



If when updating there Is a long delay, you can exit and start over the again.

Hi guys

I'm missing a lot of stations since I updated the box keys following the wipe out during the week - Any Ideas how to fix this? I looked for additional stations like tv 004 etc but there are none.

How easy is it to rescan all stations??
Also someone told me that if you can get additional codes etc you can tune in loads of more stations. is this true?

Am i right in saying for all of us out there who are either sure we have a clone or who are not sure that the best thing to do is update the keys as and when until we have no choice but to flash with a new file? Obviously without knowing for sure im reluctant to find out and lose 70 quid if the box does indeed die after reflash.I have read so many forum posts and looked at various pictures showing clones and real boxes and still it seems there is no 100 percent way of knowing-my remote is definitely the copy one but i cant be sure about the box or the manual or the packaging! Presumably i should leave it while it is working fine until it becomes absolutely necessary to find out one way or the other! Any help appreciated

Thank god this forum exists. As the person that recommended starview boxes to a few friends I had alot of people on my case when they went down last week. The gratitude eh?

Anyways all day yesterday, I had the film "The Black Dahlia" on the channel "PPV Channel". Normally this channel is completey blank. Any idea how this happens? And if there is a way to try and manually get whats playing on PPV channel at any one time.

Again, much appreciated for everyones help with the new codes and hopefully with some info about PPV.

if your box is 10.5 inches by 7 inches then its not a clone
the clones were copied from the much smaller 1st gen starview

 

if the 260 kills copies & not originals then why doesnt 257, 258, 259? they work on both!! will the 300 work on both?

 

Yes i noticed the same thing on the box office channel as like you say its normally blank until an event is on! can anyone explain this
