    Hi Folks,

260 burns out the processer after a while cos the copy has a 65mhz pros and a genuine has a 85 proc and 260 runs faster than 65 thus burning it out after a few days

ppv went and it became on demand so when somebody pays to view a film on the on demand when you do a rescan it picks up what people hav ordered and you get it until it finishes then it says bad signal again

Hi everybody, I was having the same probs with star***w box but fixed with entering the keys manually. The only problem is that I purchased cables to download the bin files for updating. A double ended female rs232 serial lead and a usb converter lead but I keep getting error message 'can't open serial port' - am I using the correct leads?

you can get DVB-C cards just like you can get DVB-T (freeview) cards. Ive never had one but from what ive heard no one likes them.

    hi smokedoak

its got to be the null modem serial cable and
i bet your useing a laptop to try to flash your box,,,
its a pain in the arse using a laptop and you will struggle because 9 times out of ten you also need a driver installed on your laptop as well

best with a desk top pc to be honest

the reason the starveiw 2 was reliesed was to combat the cloned boxes as i have heard its the same as the starview with just a new front on it called "THE BOX"

Does anyone know how small the clone is dimension wise? I would say mine is pretty small at 10.5 by 6 inches i cant imagine a box even smaller than that?

    JUST FLASH IT

YOU COULD SAVE YOUR CHANNEL LISTS FIRST TO SAVE ALL THAT SORTING LATER IF YOU WANT TO

    hi suzie81

    Hi

I got that starview box sorted out with chrous.

    You need s/w ver 258
You need to go into installation
    and do a manual scan

replace 6887(ntl network) and put in 6875(chrous network)

Then do a manual scan on the following frequencies
    371000
    395000
    363000
    307000
    315000
    323000
    290000
    299000
    339500
    379500
    296000
    291000
    355500
    387500
    347500
    410000
    427000
    291000

This takes about 15 mintues all together
and i got about 120 channels I am still missing
about 2 or 3 freguencies to bring me up to 143 channels which ntl has.

Dont forget to turn on the emu in the hidden menu.

Any more questions give us a mail .

    Thanks

    Stephen
