but i watched a PPV on sky box office once..it was TV1700 or something

 

WELL I HAVE HEARD THAT YOU CAN TUNE INTO A PPV BUT ONLY IF SOMEONE HAS BOUGHT IT WHO USEs THE SAME STREET BOX POINT AS YOU

its very rare this happen unless all the rich dudes are buying the good movies in your area

unless its all changed in the last day or two

 

ok..and how come all th $ channels have suddenly stopped working..the emu is turned on..is there an update or something

 

there has been a update yes , all starview boxes have gone down

you either entre the new key codes manualy to get it back on or update with the latest bin fil 3.00ee

I brought a pre programmed Straview box a while ago, i have now lost alot of my channels. Sky Sports 3 & Xtra work but 1 & 2 dont and keep coming up with 'Data is being updated' but just keeps looping over and over (this os also happening on other channels).

Details from box:

API ver: 2.57e_E
Boot ver: 7.0

I have an s-232 cable but wouldnt have a clue where to start or what to do.

I have just updated my Starview box from v2.57 to v3.00, sadly on v3.00 the picture pixelates and freezes, I have gone back to v2.57 and all is now well.

The only difference noted on v3.00 was the screen ratio fix and maybe slightly better performance on the EPG but that is worth nothing if the screen keeps freezing etc... As it is, the box is only used on a 4:3 screen anyway so I am not worried about the ratio fix.

I had to manually use the keys to get it working on v2.57 when it went down recently and it is fine so I think I will be staying with v2.57 until they solve the problems with the new v3.00.

If there is another version which works ok please let me know.

By the way my box is a genuine one and not a clone.

they are working on a fix for the freezing problem at the moment.

mikeygb69, thanks. I know about DVB-C cards, what I was wondering is, anybody know of DVB-C cards that you can do the same as with starview, i.e. decryption, software update etc.. Thanks again

 

if you can get one with a smartcard slot then yes. if not then you might be able to do some sort of firmware update but this depends on the card. are you thinking of a pc based pvr?

 

Thank you very very much for your help as i now have nearly all the channels back. There are a couple missing, could this be down to me deleting some non working channels when i got the box (as advised by seller).

Do i just rescan or do i need to do something else?

PLEASE HELP ME MY STARVIEW IS PLAYING UP WHEN I GO TO NAGR8 ALL SHOWS OF FFF BUT I MANAGE TO FIX THIS COZ AM ON TELEWE*T THE NUMBER IS 5A10 AND I PUT 00 AND THE NUMBER! NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM WHEN I PRESS OK TO SAVE THE STARVIEW TURNS OFF. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP I WANT TO WATCH THE PLAY OFF FINAL TMRW. PLEASE. MANY THANKS.

 

how do i get s/w ver 258 stephen because i can't get my starview to work, it's almost been a week.

I am very new at this but i did mine earlier today, are you inputing the the full key before saving?

Change to 00
Input Key Code: 4A 56 C3 4E 55 FC CB 14
Save

Change to 01
Input Key Code: 0B 0D FC 37 7E BF FE 13
Save

New to this forum - new to starbox too.
Can any of you tell me, if I can download or key in codes to receive ITV2,3,4 and the Five channels. I'm in Ireland

 

i tried both i put oo and key and save (starview turns off) i tried again and did it with 00 and 01 same problem, i used 258 and 300 both do the same thing i know my one is ginune because i check it with the report from satdownds.com/ please can someone help.

 

Some questions....

Is there any way to record (to an external hard disk for example) from the starview box.

Also is it possible to set reminders?

And finally, its definitely not possible to pick up on-demand products?
