Is there any such thing as a clone box ? from all the photos from ALL the sites I had a cloned box, but downloaded the 300ee all ok ! the only thing is the remote ,if its got 2 grooves it's a clone, anyone agree?

 

i think you have a clone. beware of the v3.00 firmware as the 2.60 took a while to kill the starviews. it might be working fine but it could die at any time as the new firmware was made for the faster processor in the genuine box. the clone runs at 65mhz whereas the genuine runs at 85mhz.

I was talking to my agent yesterday and he told me something new. He told me some secrets about wizard satellite.

Wizard satellite is not the main agent for starview box nor they are the maker of starview box. They are only one of that agent who imports it to UK. They claims that they buys from Korea but they are lying. The maker for starview box is in Dubai. They made this brand and design. The company in Dubai buys from Korea and have signed contract with them that not 1 can sell or buy starview box except them.

Wizard satellite have been buying from Dubai for quite a long time. They cannot buy direct from korea, the factory won’t and cannot give them the brand Starview. They cannot take the risk to lose the customer is Dubai. The Dubai guy buy big quantities of goods of other satellite receivers from them for many countries. Now Because of their own forums, people in UK thinks that they are the maker and only agent for these box but they are not .

Now factories have been in contacts with Wizard Satellite. They know that Wizard is big and can sell good quantity for them so what they did is made a new brand for them called “TheBox”. This is where thebox came from.

Starview and TheBox is same thing, made by same factory. What they did is just cut the middle man out to make more money.
You guys know well how much they sell TheBox.
This is what I found out… hope this will help people to know more about them.

you hit the nail on the head if you look at the picture of "The Box" you will see it is exactly the same shape and size this is i think in my opinion what happened with the 260 file it was released to get rid of his opponents so people would get away from the starview and buy the box instead thinking this was better so the 260 file was just a killer file anybody any other ideas??????

 

I bought my box over year ago when did the clone box come out I think mine is a 1st generation box it looks a bit like the clone box downloaded the 300ee all ok.

yes i think the clones are out a while but the 260 file worked for 3 week on some machines then died so if you live in Ireland i would suggest putting back on 257 as it is much more stable for here otherwise try 258/259 for uk till the 300 file has got the full bill of health still early days dont wait till your box dies you might not be able to get it back on at that stage other people might have more to add to this

you need a null modem cable.

 

im thinkin of gettin a eurovox and/or dbox. why do these boxes have smartcard slots? what other differenes are theyto starviews?

 

I think the smartcard slot was for use overseas not needed here

Q: Does anyone know how i can get the channel "skysportsnews" on my starview?

it is generally available on freeview but i cant pick it up.
i have all the other sports channels.

do a manual scan with network scan enabled. this should find any missing channels.

no it will just add any found channels to the end of your list.

 

hi all! dagame162, if u wana get zeeeee cinema back up then u have to delete it and find a channel on da same frequency. take for example zee music, do a manual scan on it and zeeee cinema will reappear at da bottom of ur channel list. i do this alot when a channel goes down, save time rather then doing a auto scan.

tommo8378, ur not guna b able 2 get skkkkysportsnews, skkkky one or skkkky news on any cable service even if u paid for it. u must have heard of da dispute between virgggin and skkkky right? well isnt guna happen. they tuk those channels off, not sure how long 4.

TEZZER im guna giv that idea of flashing with 300ee and then reverting back to 257, pretty smart dude. im guessing TEZZER is actually a robot, or one big starview box with all da answers

 

if the 260 image kills so-called copies by burning the processor out then how come theres the jtag fix??

 

hi guys ive read many threds about cloned boxes, and the smaller ones cannot cope with the update, i being stewpid enough didnjt read up n ma bro's has bricked but surprisigly mine hasnt.

i installed the v3 from satdownloads n looking at personal responses i can guess he isnt the best person to go 2.
can any1 help me in suggesting a way i can bring back my bros box or is that gone 4 good, and also if mine is going to go.

they r both smaller versions but my remote has 1 groove on the back whereas his has 2. i dont kno please can sum1 help!!

It’s very easy to know what’s happening now. The maker of Starview from Dubai has found out what’s happening too. Wizard use to buy a lot from him and now he stop buying from him and he's buying directly from Korea. The factory’s website is http://www.globalteq.com/

These 2 companies Wizard and the Dubai guys are now playing games and innocent people are dieing (losing their money & boxes)
