Like you would think he would come on and say ok all this is the story the file is ok or the file is the same as the last one i have seen on one site it said the 300 file is built on the same as the 260 so what does that lead you to believe it will work for a while and then your box will be fried like the other ones

260 only popped the clones not the real ones like 3.00ee it hasent popped my real ones but might the clones but it is supose to take days to pop them so i am under the impression real boxes are safe with it like they were with 260

i use 3.00 anyway and no probs yet and its been on 24 hours a day since its reliese

If i have a cloned box and put 300 on it what happens when it goes down it will be dead so how will i flash it back again as it wont switch on again to allow to flash will it

 

once its dead its a pain to get it working again so if you think its a clone be very carful with it

i do have some cloned boxes and if i cant get the keys quick enough when the time comes i will flash 3.00 then strait back to 257 and see if its ok but not untill i have to

when its dead its dead unless you strip it and mess about with desoldering and jtags and stuff like that

 

At this stage in the game i dont think anybody knows the difference between the clones and the originals they both look the same on the outside do you know the difference if so can you explain to me how to find it

 

theres one thing the clone is defo a clone of the 1st get starview

so if you have a large 7 inch by 10.5 inch starview then its ok as these wernt cloned ,
only the smaller 1st gen were cloned

we are only unsure about the smaller boxes as to wether there 1st gen or copies

the big boxes are defo genuine

I live in Teeside area so know from your findings that the 300 image should work ok but is there any other advantage to using the 300 instead of the 257 apart from not having to change the keys every so often.cheers.

I don't think anyone knows a clone box from an original as there are so many conflicting stories defining one from the other.I think the only way to find out is to flash the box with conflicting firmware and keep your fingers crossed.It's a pity the sellers didn't have the guts to admit that they have been selling clones and then people would know where they stood and would not have to risk blowing their boxes.

there is no advantage about going to 3.00ee except for the auto update
if you dont mind manual inputs then stay with 257

also about clone and what youve heard i promise if its a 10.5 by 7 1/4 box just flash it as its defo genuine no ifs no buts its real..

clones are only copied from the the smaller boxes 1st gen

unless they have started to clone the 2nd gen in the last week but i doubt it very much

You have a few cloned did you say, what is there sizes

i have just measured mine it is 10.5 by 6

i presume this is a clone would i be right

 

unless its a genuine 1st gen box it could be a clone

Could you measure your cloned box for me if it is not too much bother or maybe someone else might put there measure box on the forum thanks

 

Judging by infomation i have received since buying my box i definatly think mine is a fake.

Can anyone have a guess at how long my box will last on its current firmware? and is there any other reason to upgrade other that the epg?
