What firmware are you using and are you in UK or Ireland 255/257/258/259 are all good the only thing you will have to do if the codes go again is to re enter them manually and once you have done it once it come second nature it will just be the wait till the codes are released

Ireland best use 257 more stable

I'm using 2.59 in the UK, i'm fairly new to Starview so are you saying aslong as i leave the firmware and update the codes manually my box will last forever as such?

Also how often do you have to change the codes and how long do they take to be released?

 

How long it lasts is the old saying how long is a piece of string but if you leave it alone and enter the codes manually you should have no problems

You have plenty of time to enter they don't expire as such only when they are changed

The codes depends a few hours after it has been changed

Just roughly will i be looking at having to change the codes every week, every month, every couple months....?

And is there a website i can go to to get the codes or is it just a case of searching this forum?

When they are changed just come back here again you will have no problem getting them

As to how long it has not been changed since last August i think but i think it will be changed again within the next month or so but dont worry when they do the codes will be here for everyone to see

My Starview box is 100% genuine:

The size of it is:
10.5 inches (27cm) x 7 inches (18cm) x 2.0 inches (5cm)
(Please note all figures are approx)

The remote control has only one detent on the back of it and the box itself has the scart leads on the right hand side looking from the front of the box.

I have flashed it twice with no problems apart fom v3.00 not working so well as it keeps freezing and pixelates the picture, I have now gone back to v2.57 and entered manually the key change codes, now I am just waiting and hoping for the update to solve the freezing problems comes soon.

I hope this clarifies the situation a bit more.

the codes didnt need changing since last january because the 257 file was auto updated
there was 18 key rolls in that time

anyone with a dbox1 one will tell you this

key inputs are a regular thing for these lads
i will be surprised if you get 3 weeks out of it

 

so how come all the updates have suddenly stopped auto updating?

but if it was just as easy to put new keys in why make a new bin file theres more to it than key inputs and i know when the keys roll again soon they all will go of again except for those who have flashed 3.00ee
and those people will have to find the new keys again , this wont be to much of a problem though

 

Why cant the mod of this site tell us anything about the situation all the other sites have there mod's on hand to advise even if they said we are working on a file that will work on both you would not mind waiting but it is the uncertainty that gets me mod if you are viewing this message could you give us something to go on

 

I would go to v3.00 when it is fixed but for now its the only option, i cant stand watching a screen that freezes etc all the time it was driving me crazy especially when you really want to watch something.
The only differnce I saw was a slightly faster EPG and the aspect ratio was fixed but that does not warrent me keeping v3.00 with all the problems it was giving me.
Seems like I am not the only one either so it must be something that probably requires an update to solve.

 

300ee seems to work well only in the teeside area

the asian channels on my starview bx arent wrkin as it keeps cmimg up wiv "scrambled or bad channel" my fmily is desperate 4 these channels any help on how 2 sort dis would me be much appreiceted thxx

you can try 3.00ee if you want or insert the keys manualy
heres the bin file 3.00ee and the keys are on quite a few pages from page 42 onwards read back a few pages
