Have you turned it off at the switch on the back yet ?? What that does is reboots the box, you might wanna try that.
if i put new firmware it will always work alright? and also manual scan just does not work. i have rebooted it loads of times. go to parental control, put in 1668, and switch it off for about 1-2 mins. and i will try to get a null modem cable. where can i get one from?
u can get one in maplins. u also have to put on the fight firmware for the clone box click on the eko.4 link under my post into starview, firmware, and get STAR_VIEW_H20060816_257eE_api_FIXED.bin you will also need the 'gtrom loader' get it on the same link. starview , software and dowload 'GTRom v4.00.exe '

i am lookign around my home i am sure i have got a null modem cable somewhere. when i do get it, and i update it etc...will channels work?
they should do.. but you should get them with the v257 that u have on at the moment as the new version only autorolls ( updates codes itself) and this is not your prob at the moment. Do it again as v257 will take u to the secret menu ( i know some versions wont)

sounds like its a prob with tw in your area ! as a last resort click the starview tut under my post and try the freq for the different channels that u need. I suggest u go and get a null modem cable soon and download the new firmware, it may sort it out.... check your pm, i left my email there !
I seen yesterday that some guy had the 00 code in the 01 space. In other words, he had the codes in backwards, check thats not the problem with your box
yeah i got your email. i tried that already. i wont use a null modem cable, instead i will get the guy who set it up for me to do it. myloyams, all my codes are right an in the right order. ill just give it to someone to do for me. thanks alot for your help MAINAMN. fully appreciated.
