    Hi can anyone help - when I switch my box on, it quickly flashes 70 on the LED, then 0. After that none of the buttions on the box work (even the on/off button on the front!) or even via the remote. No channels are displayed. Does anyone know what's going on - does anyone know if anyone repairs these boxes.

    Many thanks

    Sounds like a problem we have seen numerous times even a jtag will not fix this issue as it may be a faulty tuner. How long have you have the SV and have you had any power outages lately?

    Sc0user, Ive had it since Nov 06, and no outages. Would this mean that the remote or buttons on the front would not work either? Can I buy a new tuner? or know anyone who does repairs? Thanks

    I dont think it can be reapired as Scouser mentioned even a jtag will not fix it

    You could try flash the b0x , you will need to know if you have a clone or genuine first

    Count the vents on top

    18x7 = Clone
    25x7 = Genuine

    You can also see pics in the link at the bottom of my post

    Its a genuine one by counting the grills. However how do I flash it - I have no idea and do not have a null modem cable although could get one.

    You can try it but I doubt it will work , nothing to lose

    You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null modem info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

    If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor

    These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

    All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

    You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

    You will need version 4.00 firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

    And please download the Starview PDF guide,(similar instructions, this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
