GTRom Loader is the software you use to load the unzipped bin file to your box. Download it seperately from

    http://eko.4shared.com/

Here's your step by step thanks to Fergusb

    UPLOADING SOFTWARE TUTORIAL
    1. Plug Starview in at the mains;
    2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
    this on the Starview you cant go wrong);
    3. Open up GTRom loader or whatever sofwtare you have
for loading image on the box.
    4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have

    5. Now click download button and you will see the
    file being downloaded.
    6. Once complete a message will apppear saying
    something like "download successful".
7.Ideally you should try and get a bin file channel
list for your area and load this as well it will save a lot of time.
    8. Alternatively, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.
    9. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
    10. Now press menu, enter 1570. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on. Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
    11. Go to scrambled channel and wait on keys updating.
    12 That should be you.

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a Fake starview box, not THE BOX, the old one. A few month ago I loaded v. 4.00 and it killed the box. I therefore had it J-Tagged and it has since been fine. I wonder if there is any firmware available which I can use so as starview box auto-update the codes as THE BOX does. Quite frankly I am fed up losing channels. I'd appreciate any help.

    Hi Guys,

First of all, cheers for such a great resource, the codes over the past few weeks have been greatly appreciated.

Somebody was telling me that i can download firmware from my laptop to the Starview Box that will stop the channels been scrambled by automatically updating the codes - I have seen Cryptstar mentioned but just wanted to make sure that this was the correct one before i went ahead and did anything

Any help or pointers would be great

The new firmw@re is for GENUINES ONLY , hopefully a FIX will be released for Clones , until then you will have to input the codes manually :)

    Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware (Crypstar - V1.4 genuine only) where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.
Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
    removing the NULL MODEM CABLE.
The Starvi*w will then reboot , Disconnect from the PC and connect back to the TV .
