yes everybody in Dublin is experiencing this. you will need to flash your starview to v2.55 or 2.57 and input the keys manually.

What about when the keys are changed again. Are we all doomed to have to constantly change the keys manually or is someone workin on a version that will work properly here? Anyone know how often these keys are changed? weeks/months?

There is a rumour doing the rounds that nthell are going to do this on a regular basis. We will just have to wait and see.

Will 257 firmware prevent temporary freezing of channels?
The 259 version seems to cause this.

Same problem in derby since I flashed with v300.

Also where can I get the lead from so I can save my channel list and flash the receiver myself?

Is there a cheap lead from a trustworthy site?

257 is the most stable firmware around.

This is the lead you need.
    http://cgi.ebay.ie/Serial-Null-Mode...0QQihZ007QQcategoryZ41995QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

If you dont have a serial port in your computer you will also need a USB to serial converter like this

Both can be gotten at maplin or PC world

it is absolutly nothing to do with the firmware, Its ntl sending beakin signals down the line, when it happens my internet loses aswell for a few seconds, its happening everywhere on every firmware..i think its an ntl problem, not purposly

Thanks for the links tonto67, I don't use eBay because of some dim-witted feedbacks experiences with some rather chenille eBay members.

Is there an alternative site which would sell the lead at a competitive price and have a good service to buyers in the UK?

    Hey rbhojani

click on start at the bottom left of your screen, click settings, then control panel, click on add and remove programes, You will have to remove things sucj as printers and blue tooth devices and thin gs, then use the comport for your lead, i was having the same trouble for hours, then i checked my comports and it was saying my lead was on com port 7 so i deleted loads and hey it worked perfect

The freezing and scrambling problems is not a firmware problem, my cousin has a genuine nthell box and pays £30 a month, io was around there yesterday and he's box did it about 5 times whilst i was there, it just kept going off, saying scrambled and then coming back on, therefor io think it is an ntlhell problem
