    Hi there,
Could really do with some help if someone has a minute. I've been playing around with TheBox for the last few days but no joy getting ANY channel through it. I'm based in Navan in Meath and service provider is CHORUS. I've no aerial on roof so presumably cable in back of CHORUS box is genuine cable and not MMDS which I saw mentioned earlier in this thread.
I believe TheBox I have is a genuine box (25x7 vents).
Since I got the box, I have not downloaded any software on to it as
it appears to have a flash image on it.....when I go to the system information, it tells me:
    api ver:4.50e_E
    boot ver:7.0
    5th june.2007

    Does this look okay?

I have gone in to secret menu and ensured that EMU button is ON. I have gone in to Nagravision and entered the 00 and 01 codes for CHORUS that were provided in this thread (ones on box were different).
I then go back to Installation and try an automatic scan...it only looks for 13 channels but finds none of them.
I have tried going in to Manual scan and entered some of the frequencies listed below but it still finds nothing.

The cables appear to be connected correctly. I have the chorus cable connected into the cable input on the back of TheBox. (This cable works fine when connected into Chorus box). I have a SCART cable connected from the TV Scart connection on the back of TheBox to the back of the TV. (I have also a SCART connection from the VCR SCART output on the back of TheBox to a DVD player but connecting/disconnecting this changes nothing)

Does any of the above point to something obvious I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No you have it right ok have you got another black box that your cable is coming from like a booster box pluged into the wall as well

    @navanman5
Check the sticker underneath of your chorus box.
If you read ITD its a box for chorus mmds and you overlooked the central mmds mast in your town.

Thanks a million for the quick replies....

    fergusrb,
No I have no booster box. Before I got theBox, I simply had the standard black chorus box, which I have now replaced with theBox.

    mgb17,
Checking the bottom of the chorus box, there is a white sticker that as well as some other numbers also has "ITD60 CH". Does this indicate I have mmds and thus theBox is of no use to me? I have cable coming in from the wall and connecting in to the back of the chorus box....thus I thought I had cable as no aerial on roof....but sounds like you are saying that this might not be the case?

ITD means chorus mmds. There is a central mmds mast in your town where the signal is coming from.
You should find a 10 to 20 meter high mast with antennas in your town.
You need a box with dvb-t tuner for chorus mmds.

Anyone with a T type tuner, eg Dreambox T as it is on the market at the moment. There is a Starview and Eurovox with T type tuners but they are a while away from release. Mgb also advocates a USB stick, but I will let him go through that avenue with you.

If you are not able to handle a 10 euro usb stick your onliest option is a 150 to 300 euro box.
Due to your other postings you always have problems to understand technical equipment.
