While Des is away, you have to flash the box with the required Firmware. If you have followed the Instructions in Starview Guide courtesy Celtic, then I will presume you have firmware on the box and you have scanned on your provider (With a live cable feed in cable input socket) and you are connected to TV with a good quality scart lead - and found all channels, exit to main Menu and enter 1570 to access Cas System Menu, turn Key Emu to ON >< with arrow key's press Set Default Key and exit out to an encrypted channel Sly Sports 1 and let it update. The factory default code for the other menu operations i.e. Channel Edit and Factory Settings is 0000, the master code if you change and lose that one is 1668. You do use a NULL MODEM lead to flash the box and if you got the lead with the box they usually simply call it an RS232 but it must be a NULL MODEM and as a rule it is generally correct, also if you have Vista as your OS then forget it and get yourself to a PC with XP OS with the correct 9 pin serial port, bit of a long post but you did ask for education, now I recommend that you look at the STARVIEW link and EUROVOX link to familiarise yourself with the procedure, Eurovox flashing same procedure with a UFL Unified Firmware and Software (All in One) but different box.

The SV 3 comes pre saved... they are in the same order as your CC provider,...if you press the OK button all the channels come up...then press the arrow next to the ok button and this brings you into the various categories,as per your provider!!

    ciaran...
ok i see you are obviously this side of the water ( Dublin)Ok what I am trying to tell you is that the SV3 is the same as if you have a genuine N*L box the channels are programmed the same as if it was a N*l box they come in the same sequence, all the movies are together as are all the sports, kids, rte,tv3 etc, you dont need to be changing them, leave them alone LOL

I still am unsure as to what you mean about pressing 101..102..103 etc, if you press the OK button all the channels in that category come up and you just go up or down and highlight what you want to watch... does this make sense to you???

If you cant access the CAS menu when pressing 1570, then yes you need to flash the b0x.

If you`re in the uk, use the 8.00.For Ireland, the 7.09 beta.
    Best of luck.
