mickah and e45 i think you have done a terrific job with all the info and advice that u give out why people have a go at you both i will never know,when we purchase these boxes we are taking a chance. i have just put the new firmware on my starview but after set up ,it says box not registered so i pressume the box in for the knackers yard now! rememeber guys when you set up one of these boxes you are defrauding your cable provider so always keep that in mind

 

Im sure if you put it away there will be at some point a way to register the box and pay to have it on their server but who knows what way that will work

E45,mickah,gerrard08 and others who use their own time for our "benefit" all i can say is thanks it much appreciated.

 

I think what every1 also has to rememeber and take on board is that, the SERVER has changed hands....I think 4/6 months ago it was a different server, then something got busted if i recall (not the server), so bcos of that i think a NEW server was setup...anyway...i've noticed the IP address is different on one of the lines, so its definitely a different server....so i rekon those of you getting the wrong expiry dates..most probably down to the information NOT being transfered from old to new server.

but..hey..i could be wrong.

 

anyone know when the missing channels are back on. i.e, s-y 1 s-y news etc. carnt moan thou. my box working o;k....

hi ive had smgo221 on my boxes for the last few weeks they where working fine until friday when it just says not connected tried turning the box of at the bk but no joy any ideas anyone ?

 

Were did you get SMGO221 a few weeks ago?? its only been on here a few days, have you tryed flashing your box again with the software, and go through the factory default and rescan process again, all the info is on e45 post 15 above.

 

you must have the previous file on (SMGO212)....
you need to load the latest file released on 9th June (SMGO221)...then you will get an expiry date..see how long it gives you...LOL

SMGO221 was released so that evry box gets an expiry Date..LOL

this update was specially made so that your box expires someday...regardless of any1 buying their box 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago, 12 months ago..LOL

I have 2 x SV7's upgraded both yesterday to the latest SMG0221 but only 1 works. The other says unregisetered box then the MAC address of the box. How do I get around this or do I just have to suck and see.???

if its displaying Not Registered, then theres nothing you can do from your end...the server is basically blocking the box via the MAC address...as the server has no record of that MAC.

So...in that case its a waiting game for kiddy to come back to us...but i wouldnt bin it just yet.
