Hi, just got a starview today. It recognises 180 channels but most have a blank screen with the name of the channel or scrambled. When I go to menu and try and input 1570 as advised on this forum it won't accept the numbers. Has anyone any advice please! thanks
It sounds like you have firmware version 2.56 on it. Press Menu, go down to System Information, and press OK. Please let us know what firmware you have, the numbers next to API. We also need to know whether it is a clone or genuine. Click on the dooby2oon link at the end of this post, then click on the "CLICK ME TO IDENTIFY A STARVIEW CLONE" link. This is very important, as the wrong firmware version will kill your starview.
Hi, thanks for replying. It's API ver:4.50_E Boot ver:7.0 As far as I can see it's not a clone as it's like the second picture rather than copy
Have you got a Starvi*w or "THE B0X" ? As these also have different firmware , also are you in Ireland or the UK ?
Ok , You have THE B0X and 4.50 so you should not have any problems , Press MENU then 1570 and it should take you to the secret menu
So you have turned the EMU ON and have all your channels up and running ? Yes Celtic done well tonight and a good result
I am having the exact same problem, except menu and then 1570 will not work. I have the Box 4.54e. Any Suggestions?
Celtic I have a box with the same issues running 2.56.It is a The BOX/Starview 2. It seems to be a genuine box as far as I can tell from any of the links can I just flash straight to 4.52 or do I need to go to version in between.. Thanks,
You would be better off flashing with a stable firmware 4.50 for Ireland or 4.51 for the UK All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

The most common issue when installing the USB adapter and driver is selecting the correct port for your software to recognize. You must make sure your particular software is looking on the correct port for it to transfer any data. To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions: 1. Go to the Start Menu 2. Right click on "My Computer" 3. Select "Properties" 4. Click on the "Hardware" tab 5. Click on "Device Manager" 6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)" 7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.) 8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port. 9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected If you need drivers go here http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm
i have already checked ports it is running on port 4 and is showing in device manager as working correctly checked baud rate made sure it is on 115200 but still no luck just strange as some channels that would normally be encrypted are working such as sky modern and premiere etc but some others that have the $ sign will not open i also tried to open hidden menu from paretal lock with code 2004 but still wont access thanks for your quick reply hope you can help still or does it just take time as i said some which normally would be encrypted are open but do not have the $ sign is this normal thanks again Rob
