    Have a look the the pics here and see if its a clone or genuine

    As Clone is 2.57_FIXED firmware and Genuine is 4.00

    As you have 4.00 installed and if its a clone it will blow it

    You have the proper firmware installed.

    Do a scan on ALL providers and see if you get any channels

    You might not have a live feed into the house

    i think the live feed thing is the main problem. wot does this mean? the people who live here last year used telewest bb and have a line installed but this year we are using virgin and it comes through the same line but the cable then connects straight to the internet. is it a case of giving the box bak?

    Have you got the feed plugged into the "Cable Input" port on the back of the Starvi*w

    You need the TV cable in "Cable Input" and a Scart lead to the TV

    Your scart from b0x to TV
    Your TV cable lead into "Cable Input"
    And NOTHING AT ALL in "ANT IN"

    In Scouser's absence :)

    You will need to know if you have a clone or genuine b0x

    Count the vents on top

    18x7 = Clone
    25x7 = Genuine

    Also you can go here to see some pics
    http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon

    You will also need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null modem info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

    If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor

    These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

    All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

    You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

    You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

    And please download the Starview PDF guide,(similar instructions, this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
