(LOL)Ah not really, missed the oul stream line of posts left by ye but I see you're makin up for that now, lol
. I have tried several auotscans. They don't appear. I appear to have deleted them. The other channels all appear OK but these ones don't appear. Basically all I want is to recover all channels, including the crap ones, if necessary. Is this possible?
There were originally 158 channels. Now I only have 148. Are these numbers about right for N*L Dublin?
I wonder can anyone help me. I bought a Starview 2 The Box. It is a genuine one and as the 25x7 vents on the top. My provider is N*L and i'm n Dublin. I have followed all the guides here on setting it up and putting in the "1570" code in order to switch the EMU on. However once I have scanned in all the channels and gone back into menu and put in "1570", nothing happens and the 'secret menu' does not come up allowing me to change the EMU setting. Someone else has told me that I should be putting in '2004' as the code is this correct? I have tried this also and it doesn't work. Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong? All the cables are correctly inserted as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Press Menu > System Information and tell us what the API is please If its either 2.60 or 4.54 you will have to update the firmware on the b0x to get the secret menu to work You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. Null Modem Cable http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable. USB Adapter info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay. All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library. You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link. You will need version 4.50 firmware for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. Updating Firmware Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY. (The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM) Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC. Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC. Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV
Yes, thanks I have the radio too. Only I used to have 158 channels until I deleted 10 and I want to get them back. Can someone tell me how to go about this?
Celtic- it's 4.54. Thanks for all that- can't believe I have to go through all that after only buying the Box!
Morning evrybody, Just purchased S******w 2 box and unable to get to the hidden menu for emu and nagravision to enter codes. Have tried going to Menu and entering 1570 but didnt work and also going to Parental Control and using the Info button and this also did absolutely nothing. Nearly sure its a genuine box, has the correct amount of vents on the top and in the system details its a Version 4.54e. Have asked loads of friends who are using exact same box and have never heard of this prob? Anybody have any ideas? Please help!!!

hi,another newbie question,,just got my starview the box, genuine unit,,im in tipperary, have ch***s cable, api 4.50e_E ,boot ver. 7.00,,now when i hooked it up and ran the initial scan i have nothing,,not even the free ch***s channels,,the cable is in correctly using the adapter provided(even tried another 1),,followed set-up instructions to the letter,,still nothing,,does the fact that i dont even have the free channels suggest a problem or is there something i have to enable or firmware to update,,the normal ch***s box works fine so signal is ok,,any help would greatly be appreciated....
hi,yes its true digital cable,,also even before we subscribed we had 10 or 15 free channels on the same cable,,
yep,,im considerin, rewiring the cable to a normal coax but this will be a hassle if it dosn't work,,shouldn't you get the free channels regardless of the scrambled ones??..any help much appreciated celtic..
