Celtic, I'm trying to update the Firmware at the moment. But when I go to download it, I'm told "Error: Model name is empty". I think it has to do with the STB Model box. Any ideas??

Press Menu then 1570, go down to "Set Default Key" , tune into S*Y Sports and it will update for you , if not , go back in and manually enter the codes again
You will need to know if you have a clone or genuine Count the vents on top 18x7 = Clone 25x7 = Genuine 13x7 = 1st Generation Also looking from the front Scart to the left = Clone Scart to the right = Genuine Also you can go here to see some pics http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. Null Modem Cable http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable. USB Adapter info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay. All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library. You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link. You will need version 4.00 firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder. You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.
have a clone starview box with api 4.00 worked perfectly for approx 4 weeks with N*L in ireland, then without changing any settings all the channels become distorted after watching them for approx 10 min and the sound goes and "bad or scrambled channel" is displayed... this tends to get worse the longer you try and watch it. I have checked through the thread and cannot find a solution to my problem. I have checked to make sure the code is up to date. And have done a full factory reset but this has not helped. The only thing that has some minimal benefit is when I completely power the unit down for over an hour, but then the problems return after watching for approx 10 min. It was the best thing ever, now its bugging me. Can anyone suggest what I should do?
