starview problem?

hi guys, am new to all this and need advice,am fed up with all the code changes,is there a software pack i can download to stop this??? my box says under system api ver:2.55e_E / boot ver: 7.0, i think i amy be behind the times here so all help would be great

 

First check and see have you a genuine or clone, 18 vents = clone
25 vents = genuine
13 vents = 1st generation

vents are the slits on the top of the box from top to bottom

left scart = Clone
Right scart = Genuine

ok You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

All firmware/loader can be found in the link i gave you prevoiusly

You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

You will need version 4.00 firmware for IRELAND found in starview firmware folder.


And please download the Starview PDF guide,(similar instructions, this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.

i tried all that except i used a rs232 cable to connect them but it downloaded and said download complete but didnt reboot it it is still frozen wen i turn it on

 

Hi, I bought a nw starview 2 'the box' a few weeks back. it worked fine up until last week. every now and then the picture flickers for about 30 seconds. It is very annoying. Anybody experience this? i have software version 4.5. Is there any point in upgrading to a newer version?

 

Are you in UK or Ireland and are you using it from the main feed or a splitter ?

 

hi my box was working ok last night then today it keeps going on and off and the pic is there but thats about it cant get it to work right i have updated everything still cant get it can anyone help plz

and... how come this clone starview came with 4.00 api?
and... how come it works for my brother (*similar system) and it worked for 4-5 weeks then suddenly went wrong?

well everyone just got starview box today. it just says The Box on packaging friend got it on internet and got himself one told me its newest one so presume its starview 2. he is on ch***s annalogue lives in newbridge and plugged it in and hit autoscan and got channels. mine just said 0 program all cables are correct and I pressed menu 1750 qnd turned emu on but still no channels. i have same ch***S analogue system through cable in wall but just cant get channels. is there problem in athy or whats going on need help pls not a tech head at all

Hi Guys,

I'm having a problem with my starview box. When I switch it on, it loads up. i.e. on front panel, the 3 green lights flash, goes to ON, goes to channel 0001 or whatever one I've been watching previously. Channel comes on tv screen. Immediately front panel on box goes to 0 and screen on tv freezes. Remote is rendered useless. When I switch it off from back of box or from mains and switch on again the process repeats itself again. Just 0 on front panel and everything unworkable.Have had box a few months now.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Would be grateful for any feedback.

Hi Bigdon,

Have you found any solution to it or what is causing it? Just out of curiosity......is your box a genuine or clone? Mine's is a clone. My friend has one but not causing him any probs yet.
