starview problem?

I am new to this. I have 'the box' and it keeps losing the signal and switching itself off. the display turns to 0 and the turns off. it comes back on and does it again. the guy we got it off us and said it worked fine in his house. we are supplied by n*l through an aerial. can you help me. I am not very technical.

 

Press Menu then 1570 and press the "Set Default Key" , press OK and tune into S*Y Sports and it should auto update for you

 

Display 0

Its a hardware fault.

1.Remove the cap (c21) electrolytic near the ribbon on the psu board.
2.Boot the box , it should boot to on and function correctly , the psu will hum ignore it , just let it boot to ON ,then turn it back off.
3.Replace electrolytic cap (c11) 1000 mic @10v on the psu board , resolder (c21)
thats it done.

No problem , sometimes when you update the autoroll firmware it needs a little kick to find the codes lol

 

Does anyone know if the new starview 2 box's can be used on a S*y satelite feed

Can somebody PLEASE help me. i bought a starview box and when it arrived i plugged it in and flashing lights appeared across the front, the person i bought it off sent me cables and software saying it needed to be flashed. when the cables arrived i then needed to go and buy a adapter thing so it could connect through my laptop. All is connected up, flashing lights still appearing and software will not download, i have left it for an hour and its still at 0%. The person said can sent it back and he will flash it for me, postage and packaging will cost 20pounds each way. Can someone please help me before i have to send it back to be fixed.

 

PLEASE HELP!!! A friend asked me to help him get his sv origional (25*7 vents ) back up after it went down the other day..i put in all the new codes posted for ireland n*l and c****s ..reset it..turned on emu..rescanned it..everything that people are being told what to do on this forum but still not working..
By manual scan I can get setanta ireland and a euro news channel ..the rest are showing menu whats on now but just go to update and keeps going to maybe 150/160% and repeats again...
I treid to put on new firmware and GTRom says its downloading but stays at 0%...AAAHHH

Are you sure you have the correct null modem cable and usb adapter?

 

Yes my adapter says usb serial converter and i went and bought a null modem cable today. Im sure everything is et up right but it jus wont work for me.

sorry iv'e had to come back to you.got my box working fine yesterday. switched on this morning & no signal again. after only 3 scans it is working well again. have you any ideas how to resolve this as it is taking so much time & i can't sort out my favourites which is annoying. i am with n*l in the northants area, could it be anything to do with them- am tempted to leave tv on all night and see what happens !

Have you got a Starvi*w or Starvi*w2 "THE B0X" ?

Can you tell me what it says on your screen ?

Also can you press Menu , then System Information and tell me what the API is please ?

The most common issue when installing the USB adapter and driver is selecting the correct port for your map software to recognize.

You must make sure your particular software is looking on the correct port for it to transfer any data.

To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions:

1. Go to the Start Menu
2. Right click on "My Computer"
3. Select "Properties"
4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
5. Click on "Device Manager"
6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected
