    I33na check it for sure here http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon/
    as we u really have to make sure because the wrong firmware on it will kill the box.
    also check the vents: First Generation = 13 x 7 vents
    Genuine = 25 x 7 vents
    Clone = 18 x 7 vents

    Hello all, I got a "THE BOX" yesterday on the basis that it was plug and play. Well I've plugged but it only makes a row of lights across the front move.I just moved it into the place my starview is working put all leads in right places but it never gets to ON. When I replace the starview into that position on same leads ect it starts just the same, lights moving across but within a couple of seconds it shows on and works fine. Am I missing something ? I aren't too hot on a computer so don't fancy giving that a try. Any help much appreciated.

    yeah all my settings in the gt rom were as you put on here
    except for the com port which comes up as access denied but
    i think thats the one for my monitor so i change it to com 2
    and as i've said before my pc sounds like its tryin to work
    on it but all i get is the flash update fail message come up.
    is there anything else in the port settings that could be causing
    it??.
    my box has the 25x7 vents so from what you say it looks like
    its a genuine. i've probably asked you this before but not
    sure if you gave me an answer,when i look in the system info
    on the box it shows the ver 3 i flashed to it in may. should
    that still be showing on there as it obviously wasn't there
    from new??
    cheers again

    You need to flash the box with the latest firmware, 4.50 for Ireland or 4.51 for the UK.

    hi m8, it depends on when u got it, i doubt it though , it probably had 257 or something.
    v3 freezes alot thats why its better to get v4 onto it

    0 showing sounds like a faulty box, not just a firmware/bootloader issue. Could be the tuner or something else. The Starview is like any electrical device some of them do become faulty. If you said it had leds like this ----, that would indicate a bad flash. Or no power at all would indicate it needed to be jtagged. You could still give the jtag a go as a last resort.

    Sorry for been the bearer of bad news.
