niamhb try turning ur box off at the wall and then when you turn it on try rebooting it. not gauranteed to work but did for me so prob worth a shot

 

Thanks but i tried all the codes, the problem is i always use chorus as my key provider but its disappered from the list. Ntl, telewest etc are all still there but chorus is gone. my bro was messin with it so maybe he pressed something. i know how to enter codes but need to get chorus back as my key provider.. any ideas?

jose happened to me before dont worry its grand they will be updating keys loads tonight cos of the footie so as soon as they do u should have a few lines of c**rus codes and u can work away.
try rebooting the box now and check ur keylist again as i just got a fresh line of keys myself about 10 mins ago.

 

niamh make sure the scart is pushed fully home in both box and tv

 

Just got chorus back as key provider by pressin the default key, cant believe it was as simple as that! Thanks for all the advice, id be completely lost without this site.. Are the newest chorus codes posted anywhere?

u will need a gtrom loader 2 upload the firmware on 2 ur box u will find 1 hear

lastly u need a null modem cable if dont have 1 u will get 1 hear

if ur pc dose not have a 9 pin serial port u have 2 a USB 2 SERIAL PORT ADAPTOR in conjunction with the null cable ..u will get 1 hear

UPDATING

1. Plug Starview in at the mains;
2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the Starview you cant go wrong);
3. Open up GTRom loader or whatever software you have
for loading image on the box.
4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have

5. Now click download button and you will see the
file being downloaded.
6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".
7.Ideally you should try and get a bin file channel
list for your area and load this as well it will save a lot of time.
8. Alterantively, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move down to automatic scan and press ok.
9. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
10. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.
Now press i then 2004. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on. Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
11. Go to SLY SpOTS and wait on keys updating.
12 That should be you.


only place u can go rong is using the rite computer port
to check which 1 u ar using

hit start
1..control panel
2..systems
3..hardware tab
4..device manager
5..the plus on the left side of the word PORTS
