STARVIEW PROBLEMS - ***NO CODES HERE ANYMORE***

    i think i might know what the problem is..the usb to serial cable needs settings..iv got as far as prolific usb to serial port(com 11) then advanced but the manual then says put in the settings required but i dont know what they are.could that be the problem?

    when you open the loader and click the bin file section you find the bin file you downloaded which was the cryptstar-v.4-genuine only. make sure your connected up properly are you just using a null modem cable or a null modem in conjunction with a usb serial adapter?when you press download if its a null modem cable only it should go immediately to your box if its a usb to serial adapter you must open the correct com port on your pc

    its in conjunction with a usb serial adaptor and i have both now on com 1 but still not working.

    now were getting somewere go to my computer-view system info-hardware -device manager-ports com&ltp-look for your usb device-double click it-go to port settings-advanced and change the port settings to between 1and 4 whichever is available then try do the download again

    iv tried both 1 and 2 but still the same message...on the GTRom lader page there is nothing in the STB setting...should there be something in there?

    yes there should be something like 3 letters and 4 numbers try com port 3&4

    Could be the fact that I am THICK

    BUT I cant get into Eamo's Library

    Anyone got the N*L updates?

    try them ithink your using the wrong cables have a look in here 3rd post down same cables are used for eurovox and starview http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/653745

    Karl sorry for butting in ....i was having the same problem exactly as this , I think its an issue with windows Vista,I tryed it on the mates XP and it worked smoothly, Only a thought!!!

    sorry to be such a headwrecker!!!my cable looks exactly like the white one and i ordered it specially from a wee computer shop i know and he knew exactly what i needed it for...do you think its bogey?

    k am gonna ask a q here, if i have no provider but can still recieve the tv signal via vm, can i still get bb with a diff modem?
