it can be a bit intimidating...the thought of messing with your box and techi stuff on the computer especially if all you know is internet or e mail and codes on your box but take it from a techi virgin...it really is very simple...get your null modem cable then come on here and get step by step guidance from the most patient guys in the world...gotta love em!!

i watch the threads and i see how headwrecking it can be but if each of us who learns passes on that info then hopefully it'll be like the movie "pay it forward"...and the word will spread...update your box at afterdawn instead of get your codes!!

Good attitude but give it a few months and watch your will to live drain away as you still see code requests. We keep them updated for one reason only and that is some people cant/wont update, simple as that. I say cant because some people honestly just cant and it is understandable, e.g. I know my mother would find it hard.

Some of our members suffer from technophobia when it comes to these things and its simple a matter of manual from day one to end of the boxes life. I can understand this now as believe me you will see. But do keep on trying as said I update all boxes FOC when I can and as for both my pm box and shout box they are overflowing at the moment, that and I mod on other sites so I have lets say learnt from experience.

Morning Folks and apologies if this has been done to death already, but am in a major hurry...
I'm in the Dublin area and have a basic StarBox. From what I'm hearing from some of the lads at work, N*L have been changing the codes almost daily recently.
Q1. Can I simply upgrade the firmware and will this automatically scan for the latest codes, and install them ? Or do I have to manually re-enter codes in daily or whenever N*L change them ?
Q2. Where can I download the firmware, if that's the way to go ?
Q3. Do I need to update software on the StarBox, no ?

    Many thanks
    C

do you know if you havea genuine or a clone box?

25 vents on the top for genuine and 18 for a clone.
