STARVIEW PROBLEMS - ***NO CODES HERE ANYMORE***

for ntl ireland when i typed the latest not this one code on my box it messed up the order of all my channels.cam any1 help to fix it please thanks

Jammie what you need to do is go into menu/channells/channell manager(pin is 1004) then press the red button to sort and then sort in the order you want them then follow onscreen instrucitons to save

Yes, you can get a firmware update for your box. I'm not sure what the latest one is yet (still trying to find that out myself), but I'll let you know when I get it ...
By the sounds of your situation you have the same firmware that I have and for the most part the box does actually auto-roll in the codes for you, but lately NTHell have changed either their key generating protocol, or their Encryption protocol as the keys have not been coming in fully lately. I would hazzard a guess and say that there'll be an update in the near future.
As to connecting the box to your Laptop ... you'll need a Null Modem Cable ... and you'll have to connect it to the serial port on your laptop ( if you have one that is ).

how do i sort them the way i want it says type freguency name etc when i prss say blue for type nothing happens.

What you need to do is to sort them manually press the yellow button your selected channel should highlight then move it to where you want it and press yellow again it will stay there when you click save and exit.

This is for celtic71, having trouble installing my starview pvr.
I've followed instructions posted by Mainaim as far as doing scan but it then says to press menu and go to parental control, there is no parental control when i press menu. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

first go to Menu/System Setup/System Information and if your software is 4.5 or similar it is ok. (If not go here and update software from The Starvi*w PVR folder)

I'm still not able to carry out the instruction to change the EMU to on. In the post by Mainaim he said to press parental control and press the i button and type in 2004 but it's not allowing me to do this.
