    yeah i have crptstar and ive a few genuine boxes but does it also work for the first generation

    Hello

    I desperatly need some expert advice to sort my dreambox.

    i have entered the latest codes for c w, however when i reboot the unit, for 01 it always gets a totally different code.
    i have change several times, but no luck.

    your advice is highly appreciated.

    creaky, a think you was a little hasty here. he was only posting same as me, i just beat him to it, albeit his post wasn't very specific.
    jus thinking if we suspend everyone for the first mistake then it won't help the forum.

    i know, and i don't like doing it, however the forums are being battered by sheer numbers of people begging for codes; for the record i do appreciate a proportion of them are new to the site and/or new to forums/computers in general, it's the only way we can get thru to them; i do try to overlook the genuine ones who've at least tried some searching. the pathetic outbursts from no1celt are the things that are more harmful to the site :)
    ..i'll try to be more lenient but i can't promise, just hoping the swarms of code requests starts to slow down sometime soon...

    Tempo .. Yes that should be ok as long as its not a CLONE , if you are unsure then put Crypt2.57

    i opened the box up and it has original parts and no red screws and it has gcr3510 rev.b 2005.09.05 and no more clones usually have an extra line under that also it has 13x7 vents so first generation so crypstar.400 yeah

    I have updated a few 1st Gen in the last 2 weeks with Crypt4.00 and all is still well :) All yours sound Ok so I would say go ahead :)

    but it did not help me to resolve the issue.
    i am with c ... w,
    and i updated the latest code 28/04/08. however, after rebooting code is ovewritten to totally different one.
    you help is highly appreciated.

    try set default keys, then let it run to see if it auto updates, if not do a factory reset then auto or powerscan see if that helps.
