STARVIEW PROBLEMS - ***NO CODES HERE ANYMORE***

Not in Ireland , its only available in the UK

 

hi i've just got the usb to serial port. don't know what drivers or anything to install. By the way i'm running on vista. Any ideas please. Thanx in advance.

would anyone have the time to go through step by step with me in laymans terms how to set up this new software that auto updates codes..before i chuck my box in the bin...

when i say laymans terms i really mean it i`m not good with technology

any help appreciated

GTRom Loader is the software you use to load the unzipped bin file to your box. Download it seperately from

Here's your step by step thanks to Fergusb

UPLOADING SOFTWARE TUTORIAL
1. Plug Starview in at the mains;
2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the Starview you cant go wrong);
3. Open up GTRom loader or whatever sofwtare you have
for loading image on the box.
4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have

5. Now click download button and you will see the
file being downloaded.
6. Once complete a message will apppear saying
something like "download successful".
7.Ideally you should try and get a bin file channel
list for your area and load this as well it will save a lot of time.
8. Alternatively, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.
9. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
10. Now press menu, enter 1570. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on. Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
11. Go to scrambled channel and wait on keys updating.
12 That should be you.

The actual firmware is a Rar file, so if you havent got Winrar on your PC, you can download it free, just Google it.

I've just purchased a Starview PVR box and im having trouble installing it. Can anyone help me out. I'm in the Dublin area and im with N*Hell.

Instructions for THE BOX PVR

(Tuning in your Box PVR)

Select Which Language-ENGLISH. Done.
1) Select which cable company you subscribe to. Done.
2) Run the Scan by pressing ok.
Once that's complete all channels will filter in.

When i get to part 2) I have to scroll down to Autoscan and press ok and when I do this it scans but the Level stays at 00% and so does the Quality 00%. When the scans complete 0 programs are found.
Can anyone help me out cos it's doing my head in?
