    Hi
Most of the pages in this thread have the link 'eko.4shared', Its then in the Starview PVR Folder along with a lot of 'needed to be read' stuff in the documentation folder I have posted the link many times.

Thanks for the link, however it has not worked. I downloaded the info, have no problem getting on to the menu, autoupdate is on,all channels are showing on the program screen, but I can only get the F.T.A channels.
What could I be doing wrong?
I am not very computor literate, but I think i have followed the proceedures.
    Help!!!

    Hi
You say ''I downloaded the info''
Have you downloaded and reloaded the 4.506 software into your Starview and done a new scan like I asked?????

    Yes

I found the software where you pointed out. I loaded it on to the box with no problem. At the end of the download it came up PRO9 followed by SUCC. and then it went to end. On the computer is showed Download complete.
On the Tv i installed Ex C&W and all the programs came up with the mix of FTA and Subscribe channels

Found the CAS menu. Auto update was on. Pressed OK on C&W. Exited on to Setanta Sports. Came up on screen as prevously mentioned. Nothing unscrambled.

    I'm really stuck.

    Hope you can advise.

    Hi
Very strange, as you have done everything by the book now, just goto Menu/System Setup/System Information to make sure the software loaded ok, you should see in Yellow ''The Box PVR E_Ver 4.506,15Oct 2007''. Finally switch the PVR Off at the rear switch, then switch it back on again goto a scrambled channel and wait, sometimes quite a while so be patient you should see a percentage bar gradually increasing until the picture clears. One more request not looked at all this thread but is the Starview PVR new?, have you ever had any cleared channels on it previously?, or has the previous owner had success with it? Another request if it has a hard drive, disconnect it and its power lead and try for channels again.

I would not advise anyone to update to the new fimware Jan 08 version. I loaded it as a test. It is very buggy and even though the guide is now much quicker it loads the channels every time you press epg instead of storing them in memory. I would hold on till these bugs are fixed.

You have posted this here today on two different threads and on other forums. As said yes it is Beta and jb is evaluating it and post his findings. A lot of people are using this version with no problems and none have repoted your particular one, did you flash it correctly?

why are you attacking me about this??? I did flash it correctly. I was just trying to give some feedback on it and trying to help. I did revert to oct 07 firmware and all working ok. I understand its beta software so I thought the whole idea was to test and report bugs.

    Hi : Re F/W update

I have given it a quick tryout and I am very impressed so far with its performance. I did have one teething problem trying to load it in via Null Modem (probably me) but found it very easy to do using the USB - PC link method which is by copying the file from the PC to the S/V's Hard disk, then installing the new F/W from the S/V's menu system. The EPG is still a little on the slow side but I have learnt to be patient and got used to this from the earlier firmwares.
I think the extra advantages in this F/W outweigh the EPG type of problems which we have always had on the S/V PVR.
I prefer the onscreen graphics when you get a recording to start/stop, and the record icons below each other onscreen. I did a pre recorded EPG setup last night and this worked fine with no split in the recording time (ie a one piece recording) Apparently there are two types of PVR the early 'Starview PVR' and later 'The Box PVR', and there may be some incompatability problems with the early one. I think mine is an early but up to now it works fine for me. The channel lists after a scan come in a proper grouped order, not all over the place and the recorded file format is .avi. I will give a further update when I have tried out more features.
MEANWHILE : Remember this is ONLY a Beta version, so won't be perfect for everybodies taste but I can say from the testing I have done so far and its ONLY my opinion, it's a big improvement and I won't be doing a rollback.

    Hi again

Well I have tried all that with no luck.
I was wondering if the key on my system is the same on yours for C&W.

    Mine is as follows:
    Key 00
    Number: 95DB55388DA05C96.

Also would it be worth resetting back to fatory settings, and trying it all again?
By the way on system info. it says that i have the right firmware.
    Could it be the machine?
What i don't understand is that I can load all the FTA channels and am able to watch them as normal, which indicates to me that the Box is receiving all the relevant info. from Cable.

    Any more ideas

    Hi
No, the keys tonight Sun @21:15 are not the same as yours don't like posting key sets on forums for obvious reasons, one more thing to try, When on the black Nagravision 1,11 screen, then right arrow to C&W is to press the LAST load default button on your remote, then OK to store, then exit out make sure AU is still on, exit out and wait on a channel for update, if still struggling PM for key, but the above should work and you shouldn't have to put keys in, also its worth a Factory reset @ rescan if still no luck.

You will need to disconnect your b0x from your TV and mains.
Open the screws around the b0x and take the top panel cover off.
You should see a small connector near the front of the b0x connected to the display panel , check it and make sure it is tightly pushed in as it may have come a bit loose .
Put cover panel back on and connect back to the TV and see if it works now .

    Hi
Another thing which often happens on the SV/ PVR is that the Aux button on the remote gets pressed unintentionally which kills the remote control, but a press of STB button brings it back to life. Your camera will still show that its working but only for Aux equipment and not the PVR (Don't know what the Aux equipment is BTW, so don't ask me)
