Click on the link, it will bring you to the Library, now you will see folder's, the 7th one down say's Starview - click that one and now you will see folders Documentation, Firmware, Software - click on firmware and you will now see Bin Files - the 2nd one down is the file you want for a clone box CrypStar-v1.4Core257Bin go to the right and download the bin file and save somewhere you can easily find it, when that is done, go back and download GTRom V4.00rar from the software folder.

Yes it is alright at the present time, you can keep it up and running with the recent release thanks to sunrise of the clone safe firmware, it's called CryptStar-1.4-Core257Bin for clones. Flash your box with that and away you go no problem, fully auto-rolling - it is fine. Find it here in the library go into Starview folder 7th down then into firmware 2nd down and there it is 2nd file down. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi eso - Check these links, the NULL MODEM is what you want it is very important that you get the correct one, they are commonly referred to as RS232 but one is a straight serial and is useless to you this is the one and also info. on adaptor depending on your PC port connection as newer PCs do not have the connection :-

NULL MODEM CABLE DB9F to DB9F

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

USB Adapter two links (one keeps expiring)

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased a lot cheaper on fleabay.

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=29968&doy=14m4

    Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starview does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.
Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starview will then reboot

Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV

Also check out and look at this page for recognition purposes :->>>

They are exactly the same for both boxes.

Just wondering who or what "Sunrise" is? A power user with a hate for NTHell of what?

Without Sunrise you would be looking at an encrypted blank screen and the clone owner's would have had silver doorstops a long time ago, hope this satisfies your curiosity.
