starview seems to have died ??

Hi Fergus

I'm in Bolton area which I think covers Manchester/Wigan as well. Mancherster is ex C&W, Wigan is TW so I think that's why I can receive off both.

 

if you are in c&w you can only give codes for there the other ones are just the default codes from your box that is all i have just found that out so you can only supply that area only but thanks for helping out it is great fully received

 

Not quite sure on that Fergus.

When I scan my box C&W comes in at the lower end of the signal spectrum and TW at the higher end. There isb somke overlap on the channels but I also get a lot of the channels duplicated. When I first got my box I just scanned on C&W and was missing a few but I was told to scan TW as well and got them all. I've started to note the codes since you asked so I'll let you know if they both roll or not. Or I can do a factory reset and just scan one and then repeat for the other.I'm off work tomorrow so I'll give it a try just to see what happens.

Just checked out your main page for codes. TW rolled much earlier and I gave Scouser both the TW and CW codes my box showed. They are the same as you have posted.

OK as promised I said I'd do it but I didn't wait till the morning (Ican have a lie in then!).

I did a factory reset and scanned just TW. It searched 81 TP channels and returned 245 tv channels and 43 radio stations. I only checked the most used stations from my point of view i.e. sports and films and a couple of others. All worked perfect.The code was the same as you have posted on the main page for codes.

I then factory reset again and scanned C&W. It searched 83 TP channels and returned 237 tv channels and 43 radio stations and yes the code was the same as your post. Again I checked the "important" channels and all are working.

It is worth remembering that the majority of TW channels came in after the scan had reached 50% and C&W before that.

Just for those that think I get 492 tv channels I DON'T! a lot are duplicated but on different frequencies!

Conclusion:- Don't ask me how but I DO receive from BOTH providers and my box auto rolls BOTH codes.

i know this is a question that has been asked of you many times,however i am so computer illiterate its embarassing.i now have my null modem cable & am ready to try to update firmware,(starview not cloned box) i need an idiots guide (& i mean idiots) step by step of what to do.can you point me in the right direction. thank you & everyone else on this forum for your patience with old guys like me.

ok go to the eko site link on bottom of my post go to starview folder click on that then click on Documentation in there you will see a tutorial for flashing your box called Flash-Sv.Wmf download that to your Pc it opens in windows media player and you will be sorted ok
