starview seems to have died ??

sorry think im confusing you all here,bear with me,ive alredy downloaded the instructions that shows you what to do in windows media player and ive followed all the instructions but in the gt4 it says 100% in the box but then says flash update failed instead of download complete.

 

Yes your were confusing me a bit. First are you sure you have the correct firmware for your box. If so just try again and see what happens.

 

ive downloaded both v4.00 version and v2.57 and saved them to my desktop,i originally had v4.00 on it as i flashed this months ago,but only since last night when i was trying to patch the ss1 has it all gone pear shaped,ive tried a few times now in the gt4.00 and sometimes it looks like its loading as the blue line goes up with 100% showing then says flash update failed,then other times i try it and it doesnt load at all? hope you understand what i mean.

 

v4.00 is for genuine boxes so if you used that months ago then that is the one for you.

Unplug the power to your box for about a minute then start again with v4.00

 

ive just tried what you said ,and nothing happened,it didnt even try to download,just came up flash update fail

 

I'm at a loss now you need Fergus or Scouser now.

go to menu factory reset and then turn your box off and then back on again put your box in standby with nothing else but the mains plugged in and the null modem cable and then start your loader browse to the folder you have it in and the press download make sure you have the right com port chosen ok

just to let you know ferg,that i cant go into my menu on my box to factory reset as theres nothing there but a green light thats still on the front,cant even get into standby mode?

 

OK pat the reason for that is the file has not gone on to the box you will have to go to the main code page and read the bad flash procedure ok

 

ok ferg.ive tried switching the box on after ive pressed the download button and it does get to 100% but it comes up flash burning,then flash update fail instead of download complete?any ideas?

 

ok could be corrupt loader or firmware where did you get it from was it the eko site
