Just follow this and you should get sorted

1 make sure your incoming cable is connected to the cable input on the box and not going thru a splitter

2 Make sure you have a scart lead connected to the tv on the box and connected to AV1 or EXT1 only
also make sure you check this as been a proper working scart

3 Next go to menu factory settings and press ok put in 0000 code press ok to clear all data

4 Make sure you turn the box off at the mains for 1 min and turn back on again

    5 Accept the language

6 Installation put your provider in the top box then do an auto scan wait for this to finish even if you see
failed a few times this is normal so just be patient till it has finished

7 When this is finished exit out to main tv screen

8 Then go to menu and press 1570 on the key pad into secret menu and turn the EMU on which has been switched off by default

9 Exit out 3 times to main screen and put the box on to the tv channel sky sports 1 and wait for this to update this
could go up as far as 250% so again be patient and wait also do not change the channel while
this is been done or you will have to start all over again

i want to save my channels before i do a factory reset, can you tell me how to do this do i just download GTROM, will I need to download WINRAR aswell? also do I have to buy this?

Finally if I want to update my fimware to the one which updates the codes automatically, can I do this without the starview box connected to the TV? as my TV & PC are in separate room

Yes you need GTRom for your channel guide.
No you don't need Winrar for this
Yes you can take your box to the PC.

What firmware do you have installed check my post above to see how.

Yes you need to update to version 4.00. You also need the GTRom loader both are available form Eamo's library at the bottom of Fergus's post in Starview/firmware.

You may as well download the channel editor out of the software file while you are at it for future use.

Do you have a serial null modem cable as you'll need that for the channel download and to re-flash the firmware.

    Now to the how to:-

Connect your box to the PC. Open GTRom go to channel files click on upload, select where you want to save it and call it.

Wait until you get the transfer successful box. Then click on app data only click on browse and select the v4.00 firmware from wherever you saved it to. Click on download, wait again until you get the transfer successful box.

Reload your channel list from wherever you saved it to by clicking browse then channel data download.

Return your box to the tv and follow the instructions for scanning in Fergus'e post above.

Pip with all the boxes going now to the subbed box channel configuration there will be no need to use channel editors as they will not work any more once they all change over which will not be long you have the starview Kryptview and euro will be like that shortly

Surely that will be another firmware update but good news either way!

Nope the new starview super box and the Kryptview all ready utilize the channel numbers on the subbed boxes at present and the euro will be getting new firmware shortly to bring them into line with them so the svce editor will be redundant

I need to buy the cable before I can update my box. I have ordered one off flebay. i will try to update my firmware once the cable arrives. I'm not to technical on the PC tho, so might need your guys help again. I've downloaded GTROM but it doesn't open? Do I need to download WINRAR aswell? Or will it work once i connect up the box to the PC? I have also downloaded firmware version 4.
Also shall I save my channels on the Pc first then factory reset my box then load the firmware?

the GTRom should open for you once you have the b0x connected to your pc.
make sure your b0x is on standby.
    select bin file, _400eE_.
you dont need winrar, & no need to save any channels on your pc
    or a factory reset.
