If you are sure it is a first gen box then v4.00 will work for you.

Sorting the problem is a matter of elimination unless it's a known fault. The obvious place to start is with the firmware, see if that does it and move on to something else if it doesn't.

Please note you MUST be sure that you have a genuine box as opposed to a clone!

If you are unsure and want to try something else first, try a factory re-set and re-scan or re-flash with the firmware you have as 257 fixed works on both clone and genuine boxes.

You are doing the right thing - proceeding with caution. No-one can disagree with that. come back if you still have problems. Someone will be here to help you.

It does not matter if you put V2.57e_E Fixed on a genuine box or a clone box it does the same thing roll the codes that is all it is meant for

But you cannot put V4.00 on a clone box as this will kill the clone just remember that

No doubt you will correct me if I a wrong here Fergus but if v2.57 is used on a gen box it will auto-roll but it is slower than v4.00.

possible so but what i am saying it will not kill the box it will if the put V4.00 on clone that is all and to tell you the truth the only difference that i know about is the V2.57 was made from the V4.00 and the clone killing code was taken out that is all so it is safe to use V2.57 on both genuine and clone safely

Just not the other way around

    You mean v2.57 FIXED

yep 100% safe on both genuine starview and clone starview V2.57e_E_FIXED

As i said you just cannot use it the other way around like putting V4.00 on clone it will die

Your box is on the way out i would say it sounds like a power problem have you tried to do a factory reset and see what happens
