starview seems to have died ??

don't I need to know the frequency pip? if i do manual scan with the network scan enabled won't it find all the channels?

There is different freq for different areas and the uk and ireland

 

You don't need the frequencies as network scan will pull them all in

is the manual scan the same as the auto scan, cuz i can't find them on the auto scan. that's why i asked for the freq if anyone had them so i caould put them in manual

 

No auto scan is not the same.(at least in C*W areas). Do a manual scan and enable network scan and it willpull in more channels. Depending on where youlive you may be lucky like me in that I can pull channels in from both C*W and telepest and get updates from both. Fergus did't believe it until I proved it with the codes!

The codes are in the link below and if they dont work with they do make sure your EMU is switched on Menu , type 1570 installation , check EMU on the bottom to make sure

 

mine finds the channels aswell, but they are all the same as C&W. Did you get any extra channels? Are you doing this in the manual mode?

 

hi there i have had my starview for about 14 months now, i think its a clone, and thanks to this great forum i have had relatively few problems, in fact i can do most stuff on it.
However today it keeps on cutting out. The picture freezes, and then it reboots itself and then hangs again. If you power off and back on it comes back then does the same again 5 mins later. What is weirder is that i have another Starview upstairs and a eurovox max, as well as my original Telepest box, and they are all working fine.
Any ideas or is it on its way to the free cable box graveyard.

 

No iceen it won't give you more channels, it just means Fergus has another source for both the C*W keys AND TW keys. You must live in the same cable area as me as I've never heard of another area where both providers overlap. But I could be wrong.

 

It sounds like a power board problem you need to check the C11 capacitor as this could be the cause of your problem look for a bulge on the top of the cap if it is you need to get this changed ok

 

fergus sorry to be wasting your time but you have been replying to me in another thread. i there you recommended i try a firmware update.
i have a lead now(work in an IT dept and we had one)but strangly the box is not doing the same thing today.
if it happens again tonight i will reflash. i will reply then. Sorry to post in two threads but its done now,

so is your box updated now to the autoroll firmware

That is because there has been no code changes yet at the moment

And make sure the lead is a null modem cable looks the same as rs232 but different
