Hi, i have just bought the starview box and set it up following some of our previous threads. Using the 1570 route I have unscrambled most channels but I have no sound, onl static.. Am I missing something simple like audio leads? The original box n*l gave me gave audio automaticall with no need for extra leads!
No sound at all just static and coming out. Have muted on and off, the volume is set on the box mid way but doesn't come out of the TV. The original reciever didn't have an option for audio leads to be plugged in but sound comes through te tv perfectly. 'the box' has options on the back to plug in audio leads, are these necessary to recieve sound?
Make sure your scart lead is plugged into the TV scart on the back of the Starview and not into the DVD scart socket of the Starview.
Interesting Scouser, this could be the problem as I haven't plugged a scart lead into anything yet! Just moved into a new house, only one tv at them moment but it's in a different room to the reciever box. Have to keep going from one room to the other to change channels, curently running through a splitter around the house. Need to buy another tv this weekend and set the scart leads up.
New TV, new scart leads and the image and sound is perfect - thanks guys! But.. the second tv in room 2 which is being split from the box has perfect picture but no sound??? Is this something that can be fixed or is it the scart lead that gives it the sound and can't be split to another tv? TV 2 is not a digital tv, if that matters..
The Starview only has one RF output and that is why you can only get the picture on the 2nd TV. If you have a video player, you connect a scart from your starview to a video recorder, then connect the cable that runs to your other room into the back of you RF out on the video, change the channel on your video to the correct AV channel the starview channel should come in on one of your Av channels, you then need to re-tune the TV in the other room to this channel. There are other more expensive methods, but this may be the easiest for you. You can still only watch the same channel on both TVs though, which is maybe not what you are really looking for.
Is there any thing you don't know?... awsome! I did think about using the box in the main room only and splitting the cable to the n*l box in room two. Not as many channels but at least I can watch something different.
