Starview the box stuck on the box

Slow down and do a scan if you have the Menu up okay, and please verify for me what your box is liam please.

 

yes its def the box, says on top right corner. i have no idea where i got the 258ee software. it was a last resort but it worked finally. ok just put the new 457 firmware on with 4.03. it is back to the last green line stuck again.

 

Why did you not check exactly what you had on the box in System Information, I honestly can't see that firmware meant for SV1 worked on an SV2 and you got the menu up, I would try to get back to were you where and then try the 4.51 I am a little confused here now. But if you get it back again, and the menu then go through Installation, I did ask you to slow down and do that.

 

sorry malci, my head is pounding and im knackered, at this all day yesterday and from 7 tonight. ok put 258ee on again, its the box, its stamped on the top left hand corner. im in the main menu api ver: 2.58e_E boot ver 7.0.

 

Right it definately says thet in System Information, does it, please check.

Ok out of curiosity then please try to flash this on your box 4.00 with the GTRom 4.00

ok flashed with 4.00 and gtrom4, it went 100% and then flashed a 0 and disappeared. there is nothing at all happening.

 

Well liam this has got me totally beat mate. Don't really know what to suggest, if you get it working with SV1 Firmware and then a complete fail with SV2 firmware, what I do know is that the 258 will not let you into the Cas System anyway, even though it is for the SV1!!!!!!!!!! totally pussled mate.

If you can get back working with the 258 firmware, then if you want to take the chance do has I suggested above out of curiosity, as I am confused as to why you can flash with the SV1 Firmware, and see what happens, sorry for the messing but we have not got anywhere at all.

 

thanks for the help malci, i put cryptstar-v1.5 on after the other firmware and it is working great. i think that is sv1 firmware too. it wouldnt surprise me if somebody sold that box to my brother with sv1 software inside and the box outter casing. it was the only software that would work on it. i spent ages with it as well. cheers anyway.

 

Well, it would not surprise me either, because I am sure that it has to be an SV1. But glad you are up and running, but puzzled!!!!!!LOL


EDIT:- And yes the Firmware you have used to revive the box, 2.58 and then Flashed with again Core400.bin or Core257.bin is all Firmware for the Starview 1, contained in this download CryptStar-v1.5.zip .
