Chill out man, you don't have to answer if it gets you down, don't know where your going or coming from with that reply, maybe you need a little break, as you said patience. LOL
It says "The Box" on the front, thats why im assuming its Starview 2 The Box after reading these forums...... Can anyone tell me a surefire 100% way of telling which firmware i need then? p.s. and no i wouldnt expect eurovox firmware to work? why would i?
thought as much - already installed that last night this the box we have i saw someone mentioned setting the correct time on the unit, is this important to start picking up channels?
Not for picking up channels but for the programme guide. Are you not picking anything up when you scan for channels?
Are you n*l ireland? Some of the sv2's need you to do a factory reset, then auto scan, then switch emu on before they will update.
N*L ireland yep. Did a factory reset as well and made sure EMU is on. Getting some channels like RTE1 and a few others, but strangely not RTE2 or TV3???? Definetly none of the s*y channels working either... Thanks guys
Has it picked up the channels when scanned? If so try this Enter hidden menu and set default key exit to sly spts1 and wait for update.
Already tried setting the default key - didnt make any difference either, found a key last night so its working on that one (but for how long??!) Will go thru the whole lot again when i get home this eve, thanks pip
i got a bad flash a couple of months ago and have tryed the bad flash method 100s of times but nothing works yhe only thing i can get i when i load it up sitch the box on wait till the green light starts to move then hit download it goes to 100% then says flash update failed any ideas ps merry xmas to all
Have you tried the bad flash recovery with an older version of firmware, and if you can manage to get that on then you will be okay to flash again, it's the only way to recover from it. Are you following the steps as laid down by Fergus in the 1st link at the bottom of my post.
hi malci i have tryed every thing i have read here in the last 2 months to no avail read about jtagging can you shed any light on this
Afternoon all. Iam having some probs flashing my starview "the box super" i used the file GTRom Super_8[1].02e_081129. When i flashed it, i put it on to fly sports 1 and changed the code to see if it would autoroll but its just saying updating but stops and i still dont have a picture. I then went and looked at the code and it had changed it back to the code that is working but i still dont have a picture. Any help would be great. Ta
It does not need Jtagging, it is not dead, what you can do just to rule out a Capacitor/hardware problem though is to remove from mains, and have a look inside, there is only 3 screws to remove and the cover will slide and lift off, just check for any leaking or bulging Cap, especially the C11 Cap. Just to rule out the possibility. Look at this picture courtesy of scOuser. http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/725/svcapfixpnggv2.png
Hi Malci Sorry it was just one of those days yesterday! Totally chilled out now! Let's get on and help where necessary.

Can you get the menu up? Is EMU turned on? Do you get any picture like BBC1 or RTE1? etc? The fixes work so you must have done something wrong.
