Not a problem, everyone gets stressed now and then which results in getting a little tetchy, I have to go now pip, so if you could keep an eye on this thread and do some input if needed, don't know whether there will be any feedback, but I can't hang around, only if you have the time though. Cheers http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/732584#4447625
Very good, now that we do know what box you definately have then you now have the fix for it, so go to here back in the Library and get all the documentation you need and have a good look and familiarise yourself with what you want to know, there is plenty of information okay. >>>>>>>>>> http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html Manual the lot is in there, good luck.
------------------------------------- Hi, well the flash seems to have gone ok, but i still don't have any unscrambled channels other that the FTA. I followed the instructions implicitly, -had them printed out. I did the flash via USB. The STB came up on my laptop as a drive and had two folders (Firmware, and Mp3) in there, as well as all the files for the recordings i have on the HD. I copied the new .bin file, extracted from the downloaded fix, into Firmware, put the STB back into PVR mode etc. I followed the fix instructions rather than the ones in the manual. The tv screen went to a pastel blue, showed the BURN message, followed by PROGRAMMING, BOOT, etc before re-boot. When i do System Information it now shows ver3.105, 8th Dec 08. When i first got the STB i got my channels by doing the scan on T******t, even though my provider is n*l. A scan on n*l got nothing at all. No matter what i do in the Nagravision window, it ALWAYS reverts to n*l. I can select any of the others, OK the save, but when i go back in it has reverted to n*l. I'd done this to try and ensure both settings were the same, as per a note in one of the posts. So far i've scanned with n*l, t*****st, C'n'w. n*l got nothing, T*****t got hundreds of channels, and c'n'w got hundreds too. On these, after the scan, and setting the autoupdate to ON, i left it on Sly S***t 1 for at least a couple of hours, but no updates it seems. Do you think i should try the other suppliers, re-flash, just keep trying? Thanks. B

The only thing you need to do in the secret menu is make sure that EMU is turned on, nagravision doesn't really enter into it however if you are having problems scroll down to set default key and click ok. If all else fails do a factory re-set (I've heard some boxes need this) re-scan turn EMU on (it will be off by default) and everything should be OK.
hey thanks for all the links it has fixed all my boxes and my friends just wondering with the new firmware how long is it going to take for ntl to do this again i heard there going to do it again tomorrow christmas day do you have any info

The only thing i can think of is the source signal. This comes from a splitter, the other half of the signal going to my n*L proper box. Any thoughts that it could update better/properly if it was fed direct from an unsplit signal? I might have to wait a few days before doing this though, can't see the family allowing me to turn the tv off while i run it again! The analogue output of the tv is bust so we have to watch through the STB scart.........
There are a lot of doom merchants about with the same story, don't be bothering about what you "hear about that", (and they claim to have reliable sources that work for them LOL). As to your question of "how long", well you may as well ask "how long is a piece of string", it will last as long as it lasts, is the only real answer, but in all honesty I do think we will get past tomorrow!!!.

And as regards the updating problem, try Sly 2, and then even the God channel, a Discovery/turbo or a Disney, even switch it off and on at the back, it is the one with a strong signal that will update for you, (just needs a kickstart) it is trial and error at the minute okay.
Going to have to leave this for a couple of days, come back with a fresh mind! Re-did the scan etc on the unsplit source signal, and there were still no unscrambled channels, after a couple of hours. One thing i did find was that when i accidentally put the unit into standby when i came back after 2 hours, and then turned back on, it took me to the language selection screen. Maybe i need to re-do the firmware update, and try again. I'll get back to you in a couple of days. Thanks for the continuing support. Have a nice Christmas!
since this is about starview do the latest firmwares for starview 2 and 3 fix the data is being updated 0% or are they just stability updates?

If you only get the language screen then select the language. Then re-scan TW after that make sure ENU is turned on. On what you are telling us you haven't re-scanned after the re-set

Hi all I am in the same position. I have a super box (starview 3) and am getting a small few stations. i tried resetting the box on sky 1 and it said it updated to 100% but immediately reverted to waiting to update. please help
Going to have to leave this for a couple of days, come back with a fresh mind! Re-did the scan etc on the unsplit source signal, and there were still no unscrambled channels, after a couple of hours. Have done everything correctly; Select Language, Select T*w***, Autoscan, (wait patiently), Secret Menu and Auto-update on (not called emu in mine but its the same thing), exit to SS1 and wait for update (also tried SS2 and a Dinsey). They all show in Info what should be showing and all show good signal and lock etc. It just doesn't update. I left it at least a couple of hours each time. It was at this point that i accidentally pressed Standby, then when i switched back on, it was back at the Language screen. I'll print off another list of instructions (for the flash and the Scan/Update procedures) and try the flash again in a day or two, followed by the scan etc. Thanks again for sticking with me! B
