Thanks for the idea. I have tried that too, to no avail.

 

Tell me have they been doing any work out there recently like changing boxes or cards that you know

 

so hw doi update my box im willin 2 hav a go LOL

 

SOFTWARE UPDATE

NEW Update for the Starview Box

Follow the Below instructions.

Cryptstar V4.00 for the genuine box V2.57 for the clone box

Instructions

1) Plug in the RS232 cable into the serial port on the pc and the other end into the back of the box.

2) Open the software "GT Rom" and click "BIN FILE", select the new file

3) Switch on the box and put in standby.

4) Once you see "12:00" on the box, press Download on the program…this will load the image on to the box and will take approximately 2mins.
Once this is compete it will show you on the PC screen.



Wait till the box has rebooted and you get "ON" on the box, and that means you can switch off and unplug.

That's it your done.

Run the scan as normal,

Follow instructions for scanning if you are unsure.

Press 1570 on remote and turn the EMU back on

This time in the EMU screen choose SET DEFAULT KEY...then turn EMU on and EXIT.
return to main tv screen and wait for the code to update this could go as high as 250% just be patient and do not change the channel
until it has finished otherwise you will have to start all over again

this is for flashing the starview 1 and 2 TheBox

 

hello ncan someone please help me i am tryin to update the box i have downloaded the firmware from emo library but i cannot open the file as it is .bin and my computer does not reconize this extension can some one tell me how or what program i need to get to open this file thanks

 

can some please post a step by step way for me to update the box its not starview its just called the box i have the files and evrything but am now sure how i update it properly and i dont wanna wreck it cheers thanks in advance

 

Its simple enough when you say you have the files etc what one are you using as it depends were you are Eire/ UK.do you have the Null Modem Cable? if so do the following:

UPLOADING SOFTWARE TUTORIAL
1. Plug your box in at the mains;
2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the Starview you cant go wrong);
3. Open up GTRom loader or whatever software you have
for loading image on the box.
4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have

5. Now click download button and you will see the
file being downloaded.
6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".
7.Ideally you should try and get a bin file channel
list for your area and load this as well it will save a lot of time.
8. Alterantively, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move down to automatic scan and press ok.
9. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
10. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.
Now press i then 2004. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on. Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
11. Go to Sly Spots and wait on keys updating.
12 That should be you.

 

i have done this but i havent lost any of my channels so have i done it wrong im in ireland but the provider is saying tw should this be ntl i havent as clue if i have done it wrong or not

Change the TW to N*L

yes change it to nthell or to the one you use &rescan

 

im sorry to be a pain in the a** but i changed the provider to n*l but what i dont understand is when u say press 1570 on the remote where is this how do i find it and where is emu so sorry again

 

Pres menu.. then press 1570 this brings you into a secret menu... you will see EMU at the bottom turn on/ off also here you will see DEfault press that and then exit..exit and you should be sorted

hi my box went down about an hour ago,i followed the instuctions on here and im now stuck on the language menu and i carnt exit?? can anyone help thanks

 

english press ok istallation press ok choose your prov then automatic scan when channels found exit back to blank screen then press menu 1570 into next menu go down flick across to emu on then exit exit

 

done that no program found,if i try to exit exit exit it stops on the language page?

 

Try it again I Edited my last reply to you, this should work as Ive done it a few times.
