STARVIEW UPDATING FIRMWARE - NO CODE BEGGING HERE

i dont know...do we have the right to complain to the "supplier"these guys provide a service FREE so that we can then benefit from another FREE service!so if theres a few gliches is that not a small price to pay for the very enjoyable benefits we reap?

 

Thanks for the reply, but i dont think i explained myself properly, it wont find any channels. It used to work fine a couple months ago, when i used to jus update the codes, and keep emu on.

 

you need new firmware on your box you will find it in the starview folder (crypstar v1.4core257) in eamos libray under neath my pic

 

tbh my comp is working fine in every other way, I am using a serial port

 

hi guys can you help i have just joined this site today but i have had the pvr box since jan 08 without any problems

I had jul 07 firmware and i updated it to oct 07 firmware when i did a full scan it did'nt pick up utv,bbc1,bbc2,sky1,sky2

I believe all these channels are on the same frequency and even if i do a manual scan the signal strength is perfect but it comes back with 0 channels found

I had all these channels before i put the new firmware on so i know i can get them

can someone please help and has these channels got new frequency's i'm in dublin ireland

But ive downloaded that crypstar v1.4, followed the instructions on using GTrom, it went to 100%, then said successfully updated. Starview rebooted. When i connect to TV, still no channels are found.

 

Try doing a factory reset first then re flash it... and make sure the cables are pushed in fully and in the right place...

 

widstyle... A factory setting should do it and make sure you habe your incoming cable in the "Cable Input" socket at the back of the Starvi*w

Celtic, what is the code for a factory reset? I have the same problem.

 

I put code 0000 into the factory reset, language English and tried to exit out but it wouldn't let me. Done the same again but also done an autoscan at the same time. Now I have 0 channels. Can someone please help me. Thanks in advance

 

thanks for the replies. I have done a factory reset, re-flashd it. But still no channels are found. When i go to system information it says;

I dont know what im doing wrong.

 

unplug the coaxial cable from the b0x & plug it in the back of the TV. See if you get any channels on normal cable.

 

purchased a usb serial converter and the download is now working, must of been my serial port on the pc that was not working properly... dont know why?

I have re-flashed my box and connected it back to the TV. The box is stuck on language setting. I selct this and reset the factory settings but it only returns to language settings and will not allow me to exit out. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or how to get out of the language setting? I am using code 0000 when prompted on factory setting.

 

Accept English, then go into Auto scan, above that make sure the correct provider is highlighted, do an autoscan,when done, exit twice Turn Emu on, exit and go to sky spots, it should click in!

 

Desb, Done the scan on the correct provider but 0 channels were found. When exit out twice I am back to the language setting. Parental control & channel edit are not being offered as options
